The purpose of this report is to make the original field records publicly available. Five lines totaling approximately 500 kilometres (including reversal) were shot. Approximate locations of the five lines (labeled A, C, D, E, and H) are plotted on figure 1. The deposits are lenses distributed along a narrow stratigraphic zone more than 4,600 feet long. Wallrocks have been altered by silicification, leaching, and by the introduction and oxidation of iron. Alteration appears to be partly related to barite deposition, and the deposits are tentatively classified as hydrothermal.</p><p>Mime deposits are of economic interest. The largest is 30 to 80 feet thick and 1,200 feet long. Smaller deposits are 270 to 460 feet long and average about 15 feet in thickness. Preliminary estimates indicate that the deposits contain 1,280,000 short tons of barite. The complex includes four major rock units, the Murdama Group, porphyritic granodiorite, quartz monzonite, alkaline granite, and areas enriched in silica. Structural and compositional relationships among some of the rock units are defined in part by aeromagnetic and gamma-ray spectrometric geophysical data. Geochemical data from -10 +30 mesh surficial debris were primarily related to the composition of the major rock units, whereas data from heavy-mineral concentrates were used to establish the location of tungsten-molybdenum-bismuth anomalies. \r\n\r\nTwo areas of about 40 sq km each are occupied by tungsten-molybdenum-bismuth anomalies interpreted to be related to the alkaline granite. One of these is a contact metasomatic anomaly; the other is related to leakage from an inferred underlying cupola of the alkaline granite.
