The research will concentrate on three areas: (1) Developing methods to analyze flood peaks in foothill areas by using gaging-station records to obtan annual arrays of snowmelt and rainfall peaks; (2) investigating techniques for flood informatin transfer, using physical and climatic characteristics; and (3) testing and, if required, verifying hydrologic models. The available gaging-station data consists of records from 81 active and 43 discontinued gaging stations. The National Weather Service operates 53 recording and 70 non-recording precipitation gages, and has 476 storm observers within the project boundaries. The Soil Conservation Service is installing a network (SNOTEL) of 46 automated snowpack monitors. A data-collection network will be established in areas of data deficiencies, consisting of streamflow stations , crest-stage gages, and precipitation stations. The objectives of the cruise were to study in detail specific potentially hazardous environmental conditions identified as a result of the first reconnaissance cruise conducted in June and July of 1976 and from work by other investigators, and to initiate reconnaissance characterization studies on the continental slope. High-resolution seismic reflection profiling (sparker, Uniboam: 3.5 kHz, 12 kHz) and side-scanning sonar surveys formed the basis for selecting stations for observation with bottom television and 70 mm bottom camera as well as for sampling of surficial sediments (gravity corer, grab sampler),

Generalized trackline charts are given in Figures 2 and 3. Two samples were collected at each well; one was analyzed by the U.S. Geological Survey, the other by a laboratory in the county from which the sample was taken. Results were compared statistically by paired-sample t-test to indicate the degree of uniformity among laboratory results. Chloride analyses from one of the three county laboratories differed significantly (0.95 confidence level) from that of a Geological Survey laboratory. For nitrate analyses, a significant difference (0.95 confidence level) was noted between results from two of the three county laboratories and the Geological Survey laboratory. The lack of uniformity among results reported by the participating laboratories indicates a need for continuing participation in a quality-assurance program and exercise of strong quality control from time of sample collection through analysis so that differences can be evaluated. The earliest finds were made about 125 years ago; essentially no new information has been recorded for a century. \r\n\r\nLarge collections of Anthracopupa from the Dunkard basin sparked inquiry into the land snails from the other two areas. Studies using the SEM (scanning electron microscope) have provided considerable insight into microdetails of shell structure, which allow systematic assignment of these gastropods. All may be assigned to extant families, except one, for which insufficient material allows only superfamily assignment. \r\n\r\nThe prosobranch Dawsonella is confirmed as being a terrestrial neritacean gastropod. To date, it is known only from the upper Middle Pennsylvanian of Illinois and Indiana. All the other Paleozoic land snails are stylommatophoran pulmonates; their current classification as nonmarine cyclophoraceans is not correct. \r\n\r\nRestudy of material from the Joggins section of Nova Scotia indicates that representatives of two ordinal groups of pulmonates appeared simultaneously in upper Lower Pennsylvanian strata; the oldest land prosobranch is found in only very slightly younger rocks. Zonites (Conulus) priscus is reassigned to the new genus Protodiscus in the extant family Discidae. Dendropupa is placed within the family Enidae, Anthraaopupa is placed in the family Tornatellinidae, and 'Pupa' bigsbii is assigned to the superfamily Pupillacea. All four of these family-level taxa are diverse and belong to two orders within the superorder Stylommatophora, heretofore considered a derived rather than an ancestral stock. \r\n\r\nAnthracopupa ohioensis Whitfield is a highly variable species, and two other species Naticopsis (?) diminuta and A.(?) dunkardona, both named by Stauffer and Schroyer, are placed in synonymy with it. To obtain taxonomic data to support the family placement of Anthracopupa, growth forms of modern pupillid and tornatellinid snails have been distinguished. The apertural barriers in Anthracopupa are identical in placement and growth pattern with those of living Tornatellinidae and independently confirm the family placement derived from study of the general form. One new species, A. sturgeoni, has been named. \r\n\r\nAnthracopupa is found most commonly in thin limestones interpreted as having been deposited in pools into which the small shells floated. Dendropupa is most commonly found in erect tree stumps that were covered by rapid sedimentation. Both environments are similar to those in which the shells of allied living species may be found today, and the fossils support environmental interpretations made entirely from lithology. \r\n\r\nA survey of the few European occurrences of Paleozoic land snails indicates that both Anthracopupa and Dendropupa occur in Lower Permian strata; Anthracopupa is known from beds as old as Westphalian B. These genera cannot be used for determining the Carboniferous-Permian boundary. Both the long local stratigraphic range of A. brittanica and D. vetusta reported in the literature and the moderately long range and great variability of A. ohioensis suggest that the land snails have little stratigraphic utility. \r\n\r\nOn the other hand, the occurrence of these land snails in the late Paleozoic of the Northern Hemisphere provides further fossil evidence suggestive of a closed Atlantic Ocean at that time. A comparison of the Paleozoic and the present distributions of land -snail families on both sides of the Atlantic provides some interesting data on geographic shifts of organisms. Finally, the assignment of the earliest land snails to extant taxa at the family level indicates that the subclass Pulmonata has been very conservative in its evolution after initial radiation. \r\n\r\nA few notes on Paleozoic freshwater snails complete this survey.","language":"English","publisher":"U.S. Geological Survey","doi":"10.3133/pp1072","usgsCitation":"Solem, A., and Yochelson, E.L., 1979, North American Paleozoic land snails, with a summary of other Paleozoic nonmarine snails: U.S. Geological Survey Professional Paper 1072, 42 p., https://doi.org/10.3133/pp1072.","productDescription":"42 p.","costCenters":[],"links":[{"id":33840,"rank":300,"type":{"id":11,"text":"Document"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/pp/1072/report.pdf","linkFileType":{"id":1,"text":"pdf"}},{"id":125082,"rank":0,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/pp/1072/report-thumb.jpg"},{"id":395507,"rank":3,"type":{"id":36,"text":"NGMDB Index Page"},"url":"https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/Prodesc/proddesc_93001.htm"}],"country":"United States","geographicExtents":"{\n  \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\",\n  \"features\": [\n    {\n      \"type\": \"Feature\",\n      \"properties\": {},\n      \"geometry\": {\n        \"type\": \"Polygon\",\n        \"coordinates\": [\n          [\n            [\n              -87.71484375,\n              41.04621681452063\n            ],\n            [\n              -67.1484375,\n              41.04621681452063\n            ],\n            [\n              -67.1484375,\n              45.706179285330855\n            ],\n            [\n              -87.71484375,\n              45.706179285330855\n            ],\n            [\n              -87.71484375,\n              41.04621681452063\n            ]\n          ]\n        ]\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n}","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4afde4b07f02db696e90","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Solem, Alan","contributorId":38985,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Solem","given":"Alan","email":"","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":152709,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Yochelson, Ellis Leon","contributorId":66678,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Yochelson","given":"Ellis","email":"","middleInitial":"Leon","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":152710,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2}]}}

Volcanic rocks in the Mineral Mountain and Teapot Mountain quadrangles mark the site of a major northwest-trending structural hingeline. This hingeline divides an older Precambrian X terrane on the west from intensely deformed sequences of rock as young as Pennsylvanian on the east, suggesting increased westerly uplift. The volcanic rocks consist of a pile of complexly interlayered rhyolite, andesite, dacite, flows and intrusive rocks, water-laid tuffs, and very minor olivine basalt. Although the rocks erupted from several different vents, time relations, space relations, and chemistry each give strong evidence of a single source for all the rocks. Available data (by the K-Ar dating method) on hornblende and biotite separates from the volcanic rocks range from 14 to 19 m.y. and establish the pre-middle Miocene age of major dislocations along the structural hingeline. Most of the volcanic rocks contain glass, either at the base of the flows or as an envelope around the intrusive phases. One of the intrusive rhyolites, however, seems to represent one of the final eruptions. Intense vesiculation of the intrusive rhyolite suggests a large content of volatiles at the time of its eruption. Mineralization is associated with the more silicic of these middle Miocene volcanic rocks; specifically, extensive fissure quartz veins contain locally significant amounts of silver, lead, and zinc and minor amounts of gold. Many of the most productive deposits are hosted by the volcanic rocks, although others occur in the Precambrian rocks. Magnetic data correspond roughly to the geology in outlining the overall extent of the volcanic rocks as a magnetic low.","language":"ENGLISH","publisher":"U.S. Geological Survey,","doi":"10.3133/ofr79716","usgsCitation":"Keith, W.J., and Theodore, T., 1979, Tertiary volcanic rocks of the Mineral Mountain and Teapot Mountain quadrangles, Pinal County, Arizona: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 79-716, iii, 19 p. :ill., maps ;28 cm., https://doi.org/10.3133/ofr79716.","productDescription":"iii, 19 p. :ill., maps ;28 cm.","costCenters":[],"links":[{"id":142783,"rank":0,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1979/0716/report-thumb.jpg"},{"id":37536,"rank":300,"type":{"id":11,"text":"Document"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1979/0716/report.pdf","linkFileType":{"id":1,"text":"pdf"}}],"noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4ad9e4b07f02db684cf6","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Keith, William J.","contributorId":21146,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Keith","given":"William","email":"","middleInitial":"J.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":160277,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Theodore, Ted G.","contributorId":57840,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Theodore","given":"Ted G.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":160278,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2}]}}

Although many size analyses of the same formations have been reported in the literature, the methods of sample collection, preparation, and sieving were not uniform, and the results of the different studies therefore are not comparable. This investigation is intended to supply a uniform data base that will be useful for a variety of practical and scientific purposes. A total of 276 samples was collected from the St. Peter Sandstone and Everton, Oil Creek, McLish, and Tulip Creek Formations at the 29 locations shown on figure 1. At each location 4-14 samples were taken at about equal intervals from the base to the top of the sandstone exposure. Each sample of about 500 gm was obtained from a strati-graphic interval of no more than 10 cm. Each sample was air dried, and lumps were broken with a rubber pestle (some samples were case-hardened but none was firmly cemented). A representative fraction of 50 to 120 gm was separated by use of a sample splitter. This fraction was then weighed to the nearest .1 gm and agitated for 30 seconds in water in a kitchen blender. The process efficiently broke apart the remaining small lumps and freed the sand surfaces of clay and almost all of the iron oxide. The sample was then washed on a sieve having openings of .06 mm in order to remove clay and silt-size particles. The remaining sample, composed of clean loose sand, was then oven-dried. Each sample of dry sand was sieved for 10 minutes in a stack of 12 or more sieves on a mechanical shaker, and the size fractions were weighed to the nearest .1 gm. The weight of the discarded silt and clay fraction was determined by subtracting the weight of the sand from the weight of the unwashed sample.

In the following tables, the figures at the left are diameters of sieve openings; samples, numbered on the top line, run from base of section (or exposure) to the top of the formation; figures in the body of the tables are grams of samples retained on the indicated sieves; bars in place of figures indicate unused sieves.
","language":"English","publisher":"U.S. Geological Survey","doi":"10.3133/ofr79230","usgsCitation":"Ketner, K., 1979, Grain-size analyses of Ordovician sandstones from the Midwestern states: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 79-230, ii, 33 p., https://doi.org/10.3133/ofr79230.","productDescription":"ii, 33 p.","costCenters":[],"links":[{"id":425392,"rank":2,"type":{"id":11,"text":"Document"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1979/0230/report.pdf"},{"id":142840,"rank":1,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1979/0230/report-thumb.jpg"}],"country":"United States","otherGeospatial":"Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin","geographicExtents":"{\n  \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\",\n  \"features\": [\n    {\n      \"type\": \"Feature\",\n      \"properties\": {},\n      \"geometry\": {\n        \"coordinates\": [\n          [\n            [\n              -98.07829208254219,\n              49.35579296161811\n            ],\n            [\n              -98.07829208254219,\n              34.901801287096504\n            ],\n            [\n              -87.70461603708134,\n              34.901801287096504\n            ],\n            [\n              -87.70461603708134,\n              49.35579296161811\n            ],\n            [\n              -98.07829208254219,\n              49.35579296161811\n            ]\n          ]\n        ],\n        \"type\": \"Polygon\"\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n}","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4abde4b07f02db673fa7","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Ketner, Keith Brindley","contributorId":18332,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Ketner","given":"Keith Brindley","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":160304,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1}]}}

Loss of iron and impregnation of sandstone by carbonate cements and replacement of gypsum by calcite are the major alteration phenomena at Cement. The bedrock alterations are partially masked by unaltered overlying beds, thick soils, and dense natural and cultivated vegetation. Interpreters biased by detailed ground truth were able to map the alteration zone subjectively using a magnified, filtered, and sinusoidally stretched LANDSAT composite image; other interpreters, unbiased by ground truth data, could not duplicate that interpretation. \r\n\r\nSimilar techniques were applied at a secondary test site (Garza oil field, Texas), where similar alterations in surface rocks occur. Enhanced LANDSAT images resolved the alteration zone to a biased interpreter and some individual altered outcrops could be mapped using higher resolution SKYLAB color and conventional black and white aerial photographs suggesting repeat experiments with LANDSAT C and D.","language":"ENGLISH","publisher":"U.S. Geological Survey,","doi":"10.3133/ofr79243","usgsCitation":"Donovan, T.J., Termain, P.A., and Henry, M.E., 1979, Late diagenetic indicators of buried oil and gas: II, Direct detection experiment at Cement and Garza oil fields, Oklahoma and Texas, using enhanced LANDSAT I and II images: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 79-243, iii, 49 p. :col. ill., maps ;28 cm., https://doi.org/10.3133/ofr79243.","productDescription":"iii, 49 p. :col. ill., maps ;28 cm.","costCenters":[],"links":[{"id":141055,"rank":0,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1979/0243/report-thumb.jpg"},{"id":36199,"rank":300,"type":{"id":11,"text":"Document"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1979/0243/report.pdf","linkFileType":{"id":1,"text":"pdf"}}],"noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4b1be4b07f02db6a8bb2","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Donovan, Terrence J.","contributorId":71529,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Donovan","given":"Terrence","email":"","middleInitial":"J.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":158015,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Termain, Patricia A.","contributorId":12852,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Termain","given":"Patricia","email":"","middleInitial":"A.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":158013,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2},{"text":"Henry, Mitchell E.","contributorId":57447,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Henry","given":"Mitchell","email":"","middleInitial":"E.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":158014,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":3}]}}

The approach involves the development of an erosional-depositional province map and a numerical impact matrix for rating the potential for erosional problems. The province map is prepared by collating data on the natural terrain factors that exert the dominant controls on erosion and deposition in each basin. In addition, existing erosional and depositional features are identified and mapped from color-infrared, high-altitude aerial imagery. The axes of the impact matrix are composed of weighting values for the terrain factors used in developing the map and by a second set of values for the prevalent land-use activities. The body of the matrix is composed of composite erosional-impact ratings resulting from the product of the factor sets. Together the province map and problem matrix serve as practical tools for estimating the erosional impact of human activities on different types of terrain. The approach has been applied to the Molalla River basin, Oregon, and has proven useful for the recognition of problem areas. The same approach is currently being used by the State of Oregon (in the 208 assessment of nonpoint-source pollution under Public Law 92-500) to evaluate the impact of land-management practices on stream quality.","language":"ENGLISH","publisher":"U.S. Geological Survey","doi":"10.3133/cir715L","usgsCitation":"Brown, W.M., Hines, W.G., Rickert, D.A., and Beach, G.L., 1979, A synoptic approach for analyzing erosion as a guide to land-use planning: U.S. Geological Survey Circular 715, Report: viii, 48 p.; 1 Map: 16.29 x 17.13 inches, https://doi.org/10.3133/cir715L.","productDescription":"Report: viii, 48 p.; 1 Map: 16.29 x 17.13 inches","numberOfPages":"58","costCenters":[{"id":518,"text":"Oregon Water Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":31518,"rank":300,"type":{"id":11,"text":"Document"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/circ/1979/0715l/report.pdf","linkFileType":{"id":1,"text":"pdf"}},{"id":138706,"rank":0,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/circ/1979/0715l/report-thumb.jpg"},{"id":271062,"type":{"id":17,"text":"Plate"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/circ/0715l/plate-1.pdf"}],"country":"United States","state":"Oregon","geographicExtents":"{ \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\", \"features\": [ { \"type\": \"Feature\", \"properties\": {}, \"geometry\": { \"type\": \"Polygon\", \"coordinates\": [ [ [ -124.6129,41.9918 ], [ -124.6129,46.292 ], [ -116.4633,46.292 ], [ -116.4633,41.9918 ], [ -124.6129,41.9918 ] ] ] } } ] }","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4b17e4b07f02db6a5d8a","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Brown, William M. Equations relating flood magnitude to basin characteristics were developed for exceedance probabilities of 0.5 to 0.01 (2- to 100-year recurrence intervals). Separate equations are presented for four regions: Coast, Willamette, Rogue-Umpqua, and High Cascades. Also presented are values of flood discharges for selected exceedance probabilities and of basin characteristics for all gaging stations used in the analysis. Included are data for 230 stations in Oregon, 6 stations in southwestern Washington, and 3 stations in northwestern California. Drainage areas used in the analysis range from 0.21 to 7,280 square miles. Also included are maximum discharges for all western Oregon stations used in the analysis. This energy reverberates between the surface of the water and the seafloor (or other strong reflectors), and makes portions of the seismic data completely useless. Several different data-processing techniques can be applied to partially suppress these multiples and enhance the interpretability of the data. These techniques include (1) the three-point operator, (2) predictive deconvolution, (3) near-trace muting, (4) spatially variant bandpass filters, (5) Nth root stack, and (6) trace distance weighting. Application of these methods to several seismic lines indicates that trace distance weighting is the most useful method studied for suppressing deep-water-bottom multiples for data from the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf.","language":"ENGLISH","publisher":"U.S. Geological Survey,","doi":"10.3133/ofr791572","usgsCitation":"Peterson, S.D., Balch, A.H., Patterson, W., and Taylor, D.J., 1979, Examples of deep-water-bottom multiple dereverberation techniques applied to seismic-reflection data from the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 79-1572, iii, 42 p. :ill. ;27 cm., https://doi.org/10.3133/ofr791572.","productDescription":"iii, 42 p. :ill. ;27 cm.","costCenters":[],"links":[{"id":139982,"rank":0,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1979/1572/report-thumb.jpg"},{"id":34442,"rank":300,"type":{"id":11,"text":"Document"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1979/1572/report.pdf","linkFileType":{"id":1,"text":"pdf"}}],"noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4a07e4b07f02db5f9490","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Peterson, Steven D.","contributorId":90717,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Peterson","given":"Steven","email":"","middleInitial":"D.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":154400,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Balch, A. Estimates were made of both instantaneous and average natural temperatures in the river during an 8-day period in August 1976. Differences between the computed average natural temperature and an independent estimate of natural temperature based on observed equilibrium temperatures were less than 0.5°C. Downstream of the powerplants, the combined thermal effects of flow regulation and powerplant effluents resulted in mean daily river temperatures about equal to or less than computed mean natural temperatures. Thus the thermal impact of heated effluents was offset by the cooling effects of structural regulation. An independent analysis of historical river- and air-temperature data, although considerably less accurate than model computations, provided substantially the same result. The range and rates of change of computed natural diurnal temperature fluctuations were considerably less than those in the river at the time of this study in 1976. The models also were used to simulate summer river temperatures using estimated year 2000 flow conditions and meteorologic data collected during 1976. Except during periods of peak water-supply demand, differences between computed year 2000 river temperatures and observed 1976 temperatures were less than 2°C.
","language":"English","publisher":"U.S. Geological Survey","doi":"10.3133/pp1108","usgsCitation":"Faye, R.E., Jobson, H.E., and Land, L.F., 1979, Impact of flow regulation and powerplant FAY from August 10, 1976 through September 7, 1976 during cruises FAY 20 and FAY 21. The chief scientist was, Dr. Kim D. Klitgord, U.S. Geological Survey, Woods Hole, MA 02543. The profiles are located on the slope and rise between Cape Hatteras and the New England Seamounts and include 10 profiles which are roughly perpendicular to the continental margin and 4 long profiles which are parallel to the margin. Single channel seismic reflection profiles are available on all of the profiles indicated on the accompanying figure with the exception of FAY 21-5 and FAY 21-10. Approximately 5,850 km of seismic reflection data were collected. These profiles complement and extend to the northeast the grid of seismic profiles collected on the cruise FAY 19 (open file report#?). The seismic profiles collected on cruises FAY 19, FAY 20 and FAY 21 tie in the U.S. Geological Survey grid of multichannel seismic reflection profiles and the IPOD/USGS multichannel profile on the continental shelf, slope and upper rise with the DSDP holes #105, 106 and 388.
","language":"English","publisher":"U.S. Geological Survey","publisherLocation":"Reston, VA","doi":"10.3133/ofr79578","usgsCitation":"Klitgord, K.D., 1979, Availability of single channel seismic refraction profiles collected over U.S. Atlantic continental slope and rise north of Cape Hatteras - USGS cruises FAY 20 and FAY 21 - August/September 1976: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 79-578, 5 p., https://doi.org/10.3133/ofr79578.","productDescription":"5 p.","costCenters":[{"id":678,"text":"Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":141910,"rank":0,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/ofr79578.PNG"},{"id":259884,"rank":300,"type":{"id":11,"text":"Document"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1979/0578/ofr1979578.pdf","text":"Report","size":"3.91 MB","linkFileType":{"id":1,"text":"pdf"},"description":"OFR 1979-578"},{"id":388511,"rank":3,"type":{"id":36,"text":"NGMDB Index Page"},"url":"https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/Prodesc/proddesc_11316.htm"}],"country":"United States","otherGeospatial":"Atlantic Continental Slope and Rise, Cape Hatteras","geographicExtents":"{\n  \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\",\n  \"features\": [\n    {\n      \"type\": \"Feature\",\n      \"properties\": {},\n      \"geometry\": {\n        \"type\": \"Polygon\",\n        \"coordinates\": [\n          [\n            [\n              -76.541748046875,\n              34.415973384481866\n            ],\n            [\n              -76.695556640625,\n              34.225429015241396\n            ],\n            [\n              -73.948974609375,\n              32.685619853722\n            ],\n            [\n              -71.87255859375,\n              33.660353121928814\n            ],\n            [\n              -70.87280273437499,\n              38.64261790634527\n            ],\n            [\n              -74.1796875,\n              39.07037913108751\n            ],\n            [\n              -75.706787109375,\n              37.19533058280065\n            ],\n            [\n              -75.34423828125,\n              36.05798104702501\n            ],\n            [\n              -76.541748046875,\n              34.415973384481866\n            ]\n          ]\n        ]\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n}","contact":"
Coastal and Marine Geology Program
U.S. Geological Survey
384 Woods Hole Road
Woods Hole, MA 02543
","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4adbe4b07f02db685b61","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Klitgord, Kim D.","contributorId":82307,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Klitgord","given":"Kim","email":"","middleInitial":"D.","affiliations":[{"id":678,"text":"Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":false,"id":160401,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1}]}}
