Rates of relative sea-level rise are high in Louisiana due to high rates of subsidence. Although marsh accretion rates are also high, they are usually insufficient to maintain the relative elevation of the marsh surface. This situation is commonly referred to as an accretion deficit. The interpretation of subsidence and accretion data, and therefrom accretion deficit data, is confounded by the numerous geologic, biologic, and sedimentologic processes influencing coastal marshes in Louisiana. Therefore, calculation of accretion deficits can be influenced by the techniques used to measure subsidence and accretion. The concept of accretion deficit is based on the assumption that accretion rates are equivalent to elevation change rates, but this assumption may not necessarily be correct. We suggest that direct measurements of elevation change in marsh surface can provide better indications of the status of the marsh surface with respect to subsidence and accretion.
","largerWorkType":{"id":4,"text":"Book"},"largerWorkTitle":"Coastal zone '93: Proceedings of the eighth symposium on coastal and ocean management","largerWorkSubtype":{"id":12,"text":"Conference publication"},"conferenceTitle":"Coastal zone '93: Eighth Symposium on Coastal and Ocean Management,","conferenceDate":"Jul 19-23, 1993","conferenceLocation":"New Orleans, LA","language":"English","publisher":"American Society of Civil Engineers","usgsCitation":"Reed, D.J., and Cahoon, D.R., 1993, Marsh submergence vs. marsh accretion: Interpreting accretion deficit data in coastal Louisiana, in Coastal zone '93: Proceedings of the eighth symposium on coastal and ocean management, New Orleans, LA, Jul 19-23, 1993, p. 243-257.","productDescription":"15 p.","startPage":"243","endPage":"257","costCenters":[{"id":455,"text":"National Wetlands Research Center","active":true,"usgs":true},{"id":17705,"text":"Wetland and Aquatic Research Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":372238,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"},{"id":372237,"rank":1,"type":{"id":15,"text":"Index Page"},"url":"https://cedb.asce.org/CEDBsearch/record.jsp?dockey=0082743"}],"country":"United States","state":"Louisiana","geographicExtents":"{\n  \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\",\n  \"features\": [\n    {\n      \"type\": \"Feature\",\n      \"properties\": {},\n      \"geometry\": {\n        \"type\": \"Polygon\",\n        \"coordinates\": [\n          [\n            [\n              -89.6044921875,\n              30.20211367909724\n            ],\n            [\n              -89.82421875,\n              30.652090026760014\n            ],\n            [\n              -91.4447021484375,\n              30.619004797647808\n            ],\n            [\n              -93.6968994140625,\n              30.15462722077597\n            ],\n            [\n              -93.88916015625,\n              29.931134809868684\n            ],\n            [\n              -93.93310546875,\n              29.81205076752506\n            ],\n            [\n              -93.84521484375,\n              29.664189403696138\n            ],\n            [\n              -93.41125488281249,\n              29.740532166753606\n            ],\n            [\n              -93.065185546875,\n              29.72145191669099\n            ],\n            [\n              -92.6312255859375,\n              29.568679425235135\n            ],\n            [\n              -92.2247314453125,\n              29.516110386062277\n            ],\n            [\n              -91.834716796875,\n              29.46829664171322\n            ],\n            [\n              -91.3897705078125,\n              29.47307903155816\n            ],\n            [\n              -91.329345703125,\n              29.28160772298835\n            ],\n            [\n              -91.065673828125,\n              29.156958511360703\n            ],\n            [\n              -90.7745361328125,\n              28.97450653430241\n            ],\n            [\n              -90.1702880859375,\n              29.05136777451729\n            ],\n            [\n              -89.6429443359375,\n              29.214507763499352\n            ],\n            [\n              -89.461669921875,\n              28.878349647602047\n            ],\n            [\n              -88.9508056640625,\n              29.06097140738389\n            ],\n            [\n              -88.934326171875,\n              29.219302076779456\n            ],\n            [\n              -88.78051757812499,\n              29.99300228455108\n            ],\n            [\n              -89.0386962890625,\n              30.121373087823045\n            ],\n            [\n              -89.45068359374999,\n              30.164126343161097\n            ],\n            [\n              -89.6044921875,\n              30.20211367909724\n            ]\n          ]\n        ]\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n}","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Reed, Denise J.","contributorId":71903,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Reed","given":"Denise","email":"","middleInitial":"J.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":782058,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Cahoon, Donald R. 0000-0002-2591-5667 dcahoon@usgs.gov","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2591-5667","contributorId":3791,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Cahoon","given":"Donald","email":"dcahoon@usgs.gov","middleInitial":"R.","affiliations":[{"id":531,"text":"Patuxent Wildlife Research Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":true,"id":782059,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2}]}}

The primary purpose is to provide a comprehensive reference on faultspecific seismic sources and surface rupture to facilitate the evaluation of earthquake hazards in Utah. Two 1:500,000-scale maps show Quaternary tectonic features categorized according to probable ages of most recent surface deformation (plate 1) and ages of volcanic rocks (plate 2). Two appendix tables summarize significant data on the activity of mapped features, including ages of surface displacements and volcanism, slip rates, recurrence intervals, displacement amounts, and lengths of surface ruptures. Good age control and quantitative activity data are available for relatively few tectonic features in Utah and detailed work is needed in many areas of the state.

Existing information is adequate to demonstrate that Quaternary crustal deformation, principally normal faulting, is concentrated within a broad, north-trending zone coincident with the Intermountain seismic belt and the transitional tectonic boundary between the Basin and Range and Middle Rocky MountainsColorado Plateau physiographic provinces. Large, regionally significant structures with evidence of relatively high lateQuaternary slip rates include the Wasatch fault zone in the northern half of the state and, to the south, the Hurricane and Sevier faults. Tectonic activity during the Holocene has been concentrated on the Wasatch fault zone and, to a lesser extent, on other faults and folds in the broader Wasatch Front region and in west-central Utah. The average regional recurrence interval for large-magnitude earthquakes in the Wasatch Front region during the Holocene appears to be 125 to 300 years or less, although events have been non-uniformly distributed in time. Most notably, the composite recurrence interval for the particularly active, segmented Wasatch fault zone is roughly 400 years for the middle to late Holocene, but only 220 years for the past 1,500 years. Other patterns of spatially and temporally clustered tectonic activity in northern and west-central Utah appear to be related to persistent structural controls or to tectonic perturbations, such as crustal loading from deep-lake cycles.

Most normal faults with evidence of geologically young surface displacements (or faults which may be expressed at the surface as large-scale folds) are inferred to be moderate- to high-angle structures extending down to mid-crustal levels and capable of producing large (magnitude -6.5 to 7 .5) earthquakes. However, the seismogenic potential of faults associated with shallow, low-angle geometries (identified mainly in west -central Utah, the High Plateaus, and the Middle Rocky Mountains) is poorly understood. Some faults and folds in the state may be associated with relatively aseismic processes, such as magmatism, salt diapirism, or shallow, secondary deformation arising from activity on major structures. It is hoped that the broad scope of compiled information and text discussion will yield new insights and help direct future research into Quaternary tectonics and earthquake hazards in Utah.
","language":"English","publisher":"Utah Geological Survey","usgsCitation":"Hecker, S., 1993, Quaternary tectonics of Utah with emphasis on earthquake-hazard characterization: Bulletin 127, 135 p.","productDescription":"135 p.","costCenters":[{"id":237,"text":"Earthquake Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":385903,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"},{"id":385899,"rank":1,"type":{"id":11,"text":"Document"},"url":"https://repository.stategeothermaldata.org/metadata/record/9e15e1a59b768b330d029e86dc104511/file/quat_tectonics_of_utah.pdf"}],"country":"United States","state":"Utah","geographicExtents":"{\n  \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\",\n  \"features\": [\n    {\n      \"type\": \"Feature\",\n      \"properties\": {},\n      \"geometry\": {\n        \"type\": \"Polygon\",\n        \"coordinates\": [\n          [\n            [\n              -109.05029296875,\n              40.97989806962013\n            ],\n            [\n              -111.016845703125,\n              41.00477542222947\n            ],\n            [\n              -111.0498046875,\n              41.983994270935625\n            ],\n            [\n              -114.071044921875,\n              41.97582726102573\n            ],\n            [\n              -114.06005859375,\n              37.02886944696474\n            ],\n            [\n              -109.039306640625,\n              36.98500309285596\n            ],\n            [\n              -109.05029296875,\n              40.97989806962013\n            ]\n          ]\n        ]\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n}","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Hecker, Suzanne 0000-0002-5054-372X shecker@usgs.gov","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5054-372X","contributorId":3553,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Hecker","given":"Suzanne","email":"shecker@usgs.gov","affiliations":[{"id":237,"text":"Earthquake Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":true,"id":816358,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1}]}}

First, recent theoretical and empirical analyses have shown that traditional measures of competitive performance are biased in favor of the larger species. It is argued that this size bias has the potential to bias analyses of transitivity. Second, analytical techniques used to test matrices for transitivity can be shown to be insensitive to the presence of intransitive loops. Techniques are presented for exploring both these types of erros and these techniques are illustrated using the results from a six-species study of marsh plants. In addition, two published studies are partially reanalyzed using a technique designed to detect intransitivities. Results for both the new data set as well as for the published data sets fail to reveal intransitivities. For the marsh plant study, the size bias associated with traditional measures of competitive success did not bias in favor of transitivity. Pintails spent 52% of diurnal time resting, 21% feeding, 16% in comfort activities, 6% in locomotion, 4% courting and 1% in other behaviors. Activities differed among months and periods of the day. Pintails used nonhunted rice fields only during the day, departing after sunset. Pintail time budgets in Louisiana approximated those reported in California. The symposium was organised to review the status of fish and wildlife resources and restoration planning for the Mississippi river ecosystem. The objectives of the symposia were as follows: to present existing information of the biota and values associated with riverine resources throughout the basin; to identify existing or planned actions that might be useful for fisheries management in rivers within the basin and to identify minimal requirements for the restoration of important fish stocks, other aquatic resources and entire ecosystems. Papers included in this issue cover the following topics: thee impacts of altered hydrologic sediment and organic matter cycles; the availability of woody debris in the river cross-section, loss of floodplain and side-arm connection, and changing water quality.
","language":"English","publisher":"Elsevier","usgsCitation":"Hesse, L.W., Stalnaker, C., Benson, N.G., and Zuboy, J., 1993, Proceedings of the symposium on restoration planning for the rivers of Mississippi River ecosystem, v. 19, 502 p. .","productDescription":"502 p. We have investigated a representative example in detail, the York Haven sheet in the Gettysburg basin of south-central Pennsylvania. It ranges in thickness from 330 m to 675 m, and we have sampled it from base to top along four separate stratigraphic sections evenly spaced over the extent of the intrusion. The easternmost section (York Haven) is entirely basaltic bronzite cumulate (average 15 vol. % bronzite), whereas the westernmost (Reesers Summit) consists of diabase and low-MgO diabase with a middle to upper 'sandwich zone' of ferrogabbro. The intervening sections feature rock types transitional between the two end-member sequences. Chemically, the rock series shows a gradual east to west depletion of compatible elements (Mg, Ca, Ni, and Cr), and enrichment of incompatible elements [Ti, Fe, Na, K, P, Cu, Zr, Th, Ta, Hf, Sb, Cs, As, platinum group elements (PGEs), and rare earth elements (REEs)].We suggest two main processes for the trends observed in the York Haven sheet. First, flow differentiation during ascent and lateral injection of the parental magma produced a tongue of basaltic bronzite cumulate that thins from southeast to northwest and passes laterally into diabase, and, at the distal end of the intrusion, into low-MgO diabase. Then, in the latter stages of crystallization, densitydriven hydrothermal fluids transported incompatible elements westward, into structurally higher parts of the intrusion. Reaction of this residual aqueous fluid with partly crystallized low-MgO diabase produced a zone of ferrogabbro rich in hydrothermal replacement products (e.g., Cl-amphibole, biotite, ferrohypersthene, and skeletal ilmenite) and precipitates (e.g., quartz, fayalite, Cl-apatite, sulfides, and PGE minerals). © 1993 Oxford University Press.
","language":"English","publisher":"Oxford University Press ","doi":"10.1093/petrology/34.6.1271","issn":"00223530","usgsCitation":"Mangan, M.T., Marsh, B., Froelich, A., and Gottfried, D., 1993, Emplacement and differentiation of the york haven diabase sheet, Pennsylvania: Journal of Petrology, v. 34, no. 6, p. 1271-1302, https://doi.org/10.1093/petrology/34.6.1271.","productDescription":"32 p. We measured aqueous and food-chain Se bioaccumulation from selenate, selenite, and seleno-L-methionine in a laboratory food chain of algae (Chlamydomonas reinhardtii), daphnids (Daphnia magna), and fish (bluegill, Lepomis macrochirus). Selenium concentrations were monitored radiometrically with 75Se-labeled compounds. All three organisms concentrated Se more strongly from aqueous selenomethionine than from either inorganic Se species. Bioconcentration factors (BCFs) estimated from 1 μg Se/L Se-methionine exposures were approximately 16,000 for algae, 200,000 for daphnids, and 5,000 for bluegills. Algae and daphnids concentrated Se more strongly from selenite (BCFs = 220–3,600) than selenate (BCFs = 65–500) whereas bluegills concenrated Se about equally from both inorganic species (estimated BCFs = 13 to 106). Bioaccumulation of foodborne Se by daphnids and bluegills was similar in food chains dosed with different Se species. Daphnids and bluegills did not accumulate Se concentrations greater than those in their diet, except at very low dietary Se concentrations. Food-chain concentration factors (CFs) for daphnids decreased from near 1.0 to 0.5 with increases in algal Se concentrations, whereas CFs estimated from bluegill exposures averaged 0.5 over a range of foodborne Se concentrations. In exposures based on selenite, bluegills accumulated greater Se concentrations from food than from water. Aqueous and food-chain Se uptakes were approximately additive, and depuration rates were similar in aqueous, food-chain, and combined exposures. Our results suggest that bluegills in Secontaminated habitats accumulate inorganic Se species primarily via food-chain uptake, although organoselenium compounds such as Se-methionine may contribute significantly to Se bioaccumulation by bluegills via both aqueous and food-chain uptake.
","language":"English","publisher":"Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry","doi":"10.1002/etc.5620120108","usgsCitation":"Besser, J.M., Canfield, T., and La Point, T.W., 1993, Bioaccumulation of organic and inorganic selenium in a laboratory food chain: Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, v. 12, no. 1, p. 57-72, https://doi.org/10.1002/etc.5620120108.","productDescription":"16 p.","startPage":"57","endPage":"72","costCenters":[{"id":192,"text":"Columbia Environmental Research Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":348334,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"country":"United States","volume":"12","issue":"1","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationDate":"1993-01-01","publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"5a081bc8e4b09af898c8cee2","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Besser, John M. 0000-0002-9464-2244 jbesser@usgs.gov","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9464-2244","contributorId":2073,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Besser","given":"John","email":"jbesser@usgs.gov","middleInitial":"M.","affiliations":[{"id":192,"text":"Columbia Environmental Research Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":true,"id":720811,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Canfield, Timothy J.","contributorId":175397,"corporation":false,"usgs":false,"family":"Canfield","given":"Timothy J.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":720812,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2},{"text":"La Point, Thomas W.","contributorId":114142,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"La Point","given":"Thomas","email":"","middleInitial":"W.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":720813,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":3}]}}

This study examined the sensitivity of a western salmonid to acid and aluminum stress. Yellowstone cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarki bouvieri; YSC) were exposed for 7 d during each of four early life stages, or continuously from fertilization to 40 d post-hatch, to decreased pH and elevated Al. We monitored survival, growth, whole-body ion content, and behavior of the exposed fish. Sensitivity of early life stages of YSC may be expressed by survival or by survival and sublethal effects. In our study, eggs were the most sensitive life stage of YSC to low pH if survival alone was considered. However, the sublethal effects on growth, tissue ion content, and behavior revealed the alevins and swim-up larvae were more sensitive to reduced pH and increased Al than eggs or eyed embryos. We also observed that survival was significantly decreased if YSC were exposed to pH 6.0 and 50 μg Al per liter continuously from fertilization to 40 d post-hatch.
","language":"English","publisher":"Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry","doi":"10.1002/etc.5620120414","usgsCitation":"Farag, A.M., Woodward, D.F., Little, E.E., The estimated total discharge of ground water into Quincy Bay during October 1990 was 1324–2177 m3 d−1, a relatively low ground water discharge rate. The tides have only a moderate effect on the rate and direction of this flow. Other important controls on the rate and volume of ground water flow are the limited thickness, geographic extent, and permeability of the aquifer. Comparisons of published streamflow data and estimates of ground water discharge indicate that ground water makes up between 7.4–12.1% of the gaged freshwater input into Quincy Bay. The data from this study suggest the ground water discharge is a less important recharge component to Quincy Bay than predicted by National Urban Runoff Program (NURP) models.

The high nitrate and low nitrite and ammonia concentrations in the ground water at the backshore well sites and low nitrate and high nitrite and ammonia concentrations in the water flowing from the foreshore suggests that denitrification is active in the sediments. The low ground water flow rates and low nitrate concentrations in the foreshore samples suggest that little or no nitrate is surviving the denitrification process to affect the planktonic community. Similarly, oxidizing conditions in the aquifer and low trace metal concentrations in the ground water samples suggest that the metals may be precipitating and binding to sedimentary phases before impacting the bay.
","language":"English","publisher":"Kluwer Academic Publishers","doi":"10.1007/BF00549789","usgsCitation":"Poppe, L., and Moffett, A., 1993, Ground water discharge and the related nutrient and trace metal fluxes into Quincy bay, Massachusetts: Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, v. 25, no. 1, p. 15-27, https://doi.org/10.1007/BF00549789.","productDescription":"13 p.","startPage":"15","endPage":"27","costCenters":[{"id":678,"text":"Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":353203,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"country":"United States","state":"Massachusetts","otherGeospatial":"Quincy Bay","geographicExtents":"{\n  \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\",\n  \"features\": [\n    {\n      \"type\": \"Feature\",\n      \"properties\": {},\n      \"geometry\": {\n        \"type\": \"Polygon\",\n        \"coordinates\": [\n          [\n            [\n              -71.16943359375,\n              42.20512475970615\n            ],\n            [\n              -70.73753356933594,\n              42.20512475970615\n            ],\n            [\n              -70.73753356933594,\n              42.43308625978409\n            ],\n            [\n              -71.16943359375,\n              42.43308625978409\n            ],\n            [\n              -71.16943359375,\n              42.20512475970615\n            ]\n          ]\n        ]\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n}","volume":"25","issue":"1","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"5aff2597e4b0da30c1bfd6c0","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Poppe, Lawrence J. lpoppe@usgs.gov","contributorId":2149,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Poppe","given":"Lawrence J.","email":"lpoppe@usgs.gov","affiliations":[{"id":678,"text":"Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":false,"id":732858,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Moffett, A.M.","contributorId":54625,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Moffett","given":"A.M.","email":"","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":732859,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2}]}}

Over the 1990-1991 austral summer Seismic Experiment Ross Ice Shelf (SERIS) was carried out across the Transantarctic Mountain front, between latitudes 82 degrees to 83 degrees S, in order to investigate the transition zone between the rifted area of the Ross Embayment and the uplifted Transantarctic Mountains. This experiment involved a 140 km long seismic reflection profile together with a 96 km long coincident wide-angle reflection/refraction profile. Gravity and relative elevation (using barometric pressure) were also measured along the profile. The primary purpose was to examine the boundary between the rift system and the uplifted rift margin (represented by the Transantarctic Mountains) using modern multi-channel crustal reflection/refraction techniques. The results provide insight into crustal structure across the plate boundary. SERIS also represented one of the first large-scale and modern multi-channel seismic experiments in the remote interior of Antarctica. As such, the project was designed to test different seismic acquisition techniques which will be involved in future seismic exploration of the continent. This report describes the results from the analysis of the acquisition tests as well as detailing some of the characteristics of the reflection seismic data. Sequence geometry is found to be most sensitive to sea level, but other factors, including subsidence rate and sediment supply, can produce similar changes. Sediment loading and compaction also play a major role in generating accommodation, a factor often neglected in sequence-stratigraphic models. All of these parameters can control whether a type 1 or type 2 sequence boundary is produced. The models indicate that variations in margin characteristics produce systematic shifts in sequence boundary timing and systems tract distribution. The timing of the sequence boundary formation and systems tracts may differ by up to one-half of a sea-level cycle. Thus correlative sequence boundaries will not be synchronous. While rates of sea-level change may exceed the rate of thermal subsidence, isostasy and compaction may amplify the rate of total subsidence to several times greater than the thermal subsidence. Thus, total subsidence does not vary uniformly across the margin since it is modified by the sediment load. The amplitude of sea-level changes cannot be determined accurately without accounting for the major processes that affect sediment accumulation. Backstripping of a seismic line on the New Jersey margin is used to reconstruct continental margin geometry. The reconstructions show that the pre-existing ramp-margin geometry, rather than sea level, controls clinoform heights and slopes and sedimentary bypass. Backstripping also reveals progressive deformation of sequences due to compaction. Further work is still needed to understand quantitatively the role of sea level and the tectonic and sedimentary processes controlling sequence formation and influencing sequence architecture.
","largerWorkType":{"id":4,"text":"Book"},"largerWorkTitle":"Sequence Stratigraphy and Facies Associations","language":"English","publisher":"Wiley","doi":"10.1002/9781444304015.ch2","usgsCitation":"Steckler, M., Reynolds, D., Coakley, B., Swift, B., and Jarrard, R., 1993, Modelling passive margin sequence stratigraphy, chap. of Sequence Stratigraphy and Facies Associations, v. 18, p. 19-41, https://doi.org/10.1002/9781444304015.ch2.","productDescription":"23 p.","startPage":"19","endPage":"41","costCenters":[{"id":678,"text":"Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":351907,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"country":"United States","volume":"18","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationDate":"2009-04-15","publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"5aff2597e4b0da30c1bfd6c2","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Steckler, M.S.","contributorId":26169,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Steckler","given":"M.S.","email":"","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":729391,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Reynolds, D.","contributorId":76149,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Reynolds","given":"D.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":729392,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2},{"text":"Coakley, B.","contributorId":82916,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Coakley","given":"B.","email":"","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":729393,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":3},{"text":"Swift, B.A.","contributorId":32937,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Swift","given":"B.A.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":729394,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":4},{"text":"Jarrard, R.
