Samples of meltwater collected at the base of the snowpack in 1987 were acidic and exhibited distinct ‘pulses’ of nitrate and sulfate. Solutions collected with lysimeters in forest soils adjacent to the stream revealed high levels of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and total Al. Peaks in concentration of DOC, Al, and nutrient species in the stream samples indicate a flush of soil solution into the surface water at the beginning of the melt. Infiltration of meltwater into soils and spatial heterogeneity in the timing of melting across the basin prevented stream and lake waters from becoming acidic.","largerWorkType":{"id":2,"text":"Article"},"largerWorkTitle":"Water, Air, and Soil Pollution","largerWorkSubtype":{"id":10,"text":"Journal Article"},"language":"English","publisher":"Kluwer Academic Publishers","publisherLocation":"Dordrecht","doi":"10.1007/BF00283175","usgsCitation":"Denning, A.S., Baron, J., Mast, M.A., and Arthur, M., 1991, Hydrologic pathways and chemical composition of runoff during snowmelt in Loch Vale Watershed, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, USA: Water, Air, & Soil Pollution, v. 59, no. 1-2, p. 107-123, https://doi.org/10.1007/BF00283175.","productDescription":"17 p.","startPage":"107","endPage":"123","numberOfPages":"17","costCenters":[],"links":[{"id":294095,"type":{"id":10,"text":"Digital Object Identifier"},"url":"https://dx.doi.org/10.1007/BF00283175"},{"id":294096,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"country":"United States","state":"Colorado","otherGeospatial":"Rocky Mountain National Park","geographicExtents":"{ \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\", \"features\": [ { \"type\": \"Feature\", \"properties\": {}, \"geometry\": { \"type\": \"Polygon\", \"coordinates\": [ [ [ -105.913714,40.158067 ], [ -105.913714,40.553787 ], [ -105.493583,40.553787 ], [ -105.493583,40.158067 ], [ -105.913714,40.158067 ] ] ] } } ] }","volume":"59","issue":"1-2","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"541bf432e4b0e96537ddf722","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Denning, A. The CRS models provided relatively accurate, low‐cost estimates of daily ration from only one to four fish collections – compared with nine for the E–P procedure. Besides reducing daily sampling effort, CRS models allowed flexibility in fish collection times, thus alleviating the need for 24‐h associations with sampling sites. Independent variables for CRS models included the food weight in fish stomachs from a particular collection (adjusted for water temperature) and the time of day when a fish collection was made. Accuracy of CRS model estimates of yellow perch daily ration relative to E–P estimates was evaluated with a jackknife‐like procedure. Effectiveness of CRS models arose from significant relationships that existed between food weights in yellow perch stomachs throughout certain periods of the day and average food weight in stomachs over 24 h. Similar relationships, and hence low‐cost estimation potential, are expected for other fish species with regular diel feeding activity. Because CRS models reduce time requirements in the field, they should allow more detailed coverage of important spatial and temporal variability in multiday food consumption studies for fishes. The CRS models also showed spatial robustness and a desirable capacity to estimate daily rations in years beyond those for which the models were developed.
","language":"English","publisher":"American Fisheries Society","doi":"10.1577/1548-8659(1991)120<0589:LFEOYP>2.3.CO;2","usgsCitation":"Hayward, R., Margraf, F.J., Parrish, D., and Vondracek, B., 1991, Low-cost field estimation of yellow perch daily ration: Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, v. 120, no. 5, p. 589-604, https://doi.org/10.1577/1548-8659(1991)120<0589:LFEOYP>2.3.CO;2.","productDescription":"16 p.","startPage":"589","endPage":"604","costCenters":[{"id":365,"text":"Leetown Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":131012,"rank":1,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"volume":"120","issue":"5","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4a75e4b07f02db644a0f","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Hayward, R.S.","contributorId":48913,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Hayward","given":"R.S.","email":"","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":320578,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Margraf, F. We examined PCB concentrations and stock of origin of coastal striped bass to better understand the effects of these two factors on the composition of the harvest. The probability of observing differences in PCB concentration among fish from the Hudson River stock and the “southern” group (Chesapeake Bay and Roanoke River stocks combined) was investigated with the logit model (a linear model for analysis of categorical data). Although total PCB concentrations were highly variable among fish from the two groups, striped bass classified as Hudson River stock had a significantly greater probability of having PCB concentrations equal to or greater than 2.00 mg/kg than did fish belonging to the southern group for all age‐ and size‐classes examined. There was a significantly greater probability of observing total PCB concentrations equal to or exceeding 2.00 mg/kg in fish that were 5, 6, and 7 or more years old, and this probability increased linearly with age, We observed similar results when we examined the effect of size on total PCB concentration. The minimum‐size limit estimated to permit escapement of fish to sustain stock production is 610 mm total length. Unless total PCB concentrations decrease in striped bass, it is likely that many harvestable fish will have concentrations that exceed the tolerance limit set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
","language":"English","publisher":"American Fisheries Society","doi":"10.1577/1548-8659(1991)120<0541:SBSACO>2.3.CO;2","usgsCitation":"Fabrizio, M.C., Sloan, R.J., and O'Brien, J., 1991, Striped bass stocks and concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls: Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, v. 120, no. 5, p. 541-551, https://doi.org/10.1577/1548-8659(1991)120<0541:SBSACO>2.3.CO;2.","productDescription":"11 p.","startPage":"541","endPage":"551","onlineOnly":"N","additionalOnlineFiles":"N","costCenters":[{"id":324,"text":"Great Lakes Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":131821,"rank":1,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"volume":"120","issue":"5","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4b15e4b07f02db6a4c4f","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Fabrizio, Mary C.","contributorId":77471,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Fabrizio","given":"Mary","email":"","middleInitial":"C.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":308861,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Sloan, Ronald J.","contributorId":92628,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Sloan","given":"Ronald","email":"","middleInitial":"J.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":308862,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2},{"text":"O'Brien, John F.","contributorId":36511,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"O'Brien","given":"John F.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":308860,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":3}]}}

Because stream temperatures are near the upper limit of tolerance for the survival of juvenile steelhead, the possible long‐term effect of clear‐cut logging on stream temperatures was assessed. Twenty‐year (1969–1989) records of summer stream temperature and flow from four tributaries and two reaches of Steamboat Creek and Boulder Creek (a nearby unlogged watershed) were analyzed. Logging records for the Steamboat Creek basin and air temperature records also were used in the analysis. A time‐series model of the components of stream temperature (seasonal cycle of solar radiation, air temperature, streamflow, an autoregressive term of order 1, and a linear trend variable) was fitted to the water‐temperature data. The linear trend variable was significant in all the fitted models except Bend Creek (a tributary fed by cool ground‐water discharge) and Boulder Creek. Because no trends in either climate (i.e., air temperature) or streamflow were found in the data, the trend variable was associated with the pre‐1969 loss and subsequent regrowth of riparian vegetation and shading canopies.

","language":"English","publisher":"American Water Resources Association","doi":"10.1111/j.1752-1688.1991.tb01465.x","usgsCitation":"Hostetler, S.W., 1991, Analysis and modeling of long‐term stream temperatures on the Steamboat Creek Basin, Oregon: Implications for land use and fish habitat: Journal of the American Water Resources Association, v. 27, no. 4, p. 637-647, https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1752-1688.1991.tb01465.x.","productDescription":"11 p.","startPage":"637","endPage":"647","costCenters":[{"id":200,"text":"Coop Res Unit Seattle","active":true,"usgs":true},{"id":481,"text":"Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":380819,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"country":"United States","state":"Oregon","otherGeospatial":"Steamboat Creek basin","geographicExtents":"{\n  \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\",\n  \"features\": [\n    {\n      \"type\": \"Feature\",\n      \"properties\": {},\n      \"geometry\": {\n        \"type\": \"Polygon\",\n        \"coordinates\": [\n          [\n            [\n              -122.78182983398436,\n              43.30669281678247\n            ],\n            [\n              -122.64862060546875,\n              43.30669281678247\n            ],\n            [\n              -122.64862060546875,\n              43.36712244111069\n            ],\n            [\n              -122.78182983398436,\n              43.36712244111069\n            ],\n            [\n              -122.78182983398436,\n              43.30669281678247\n            ]\n          ]\n        ]\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n}","volume":"27","issue":"4","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationDate":"2007-06-08","publicationStatus":"PW","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Hostetler, Steven W. 0000-0003-2272-8302 swhostet@usgs.gov","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2272-8302","contributorId":3249,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Hostetler","given":"Steven","email":"swhostet@usgs.gov","middleInitial":"W.","affiliations":[{"id":200,"text":"Coop Res Unit Seattle","active":true,"usgs":true},{"id":438,"text":"National Research Program - Western Branch","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":true,"id":805698,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1}]}}

The ages (136 ± 8 and 141 ± 9 thousand years ago) for these two events are analytically indistinguishable. The small angular difference (4.7°) between the paleomagnetic directions from these two events suggests they differ in age by only about 100 years. These ages are consistent with the chronology of the surficial geological units in the Yucca Mountain area. Femur and liver tissues were analyzed for Al, Ca, and P concentrations and structural characteristics. At two weeks of age, both species demonstrated pronounced differences in femur Al and P concentrations and femur mass from dietary Al and interaction between Ca:P regimen and Al; Low Ca:Low P enhanced Al storage and decreased P and mass in femurs. Femur Ca was lowest in the Low Ca:Low P regimen but was not affected by dietary Al. At 10 weeks, femur and liver Al continued to vary with dietary Al. Elevated Al and reduced Ca lowered modulus of elasticity. Femur P increased with elevated dietary P in black ducks. Elevated dietary P negated some of the effects of dietary Al on femur mass in black ducks. Reduced Ca concentrations weakened bones of both species and lowered both Ca and P. An array of clinical signs including lameness, discoloration of the upper mandible, complete and greenstick fractures, and death were responses to elevated Al and Ca:P regimen. Black ducks seemed to display these signs over a wider range of diets than mallards. Diets of 1,000 mg/kg Al had toxic effects on both species, particularly when combined with diets low in Ca and P.
","language":"English","publisher":"Springer","doi":"10.1007/BF01055347","usgsCitation":"Sparling, D.W., 1991, Acid precipitation and food quality: Effects of dietary Al, Ca and P on bone and liver characteristics in American black ducks and mallards: Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, v. 21, no. 2, p. 281-288, https://doi.org/10.1007/BF01055347.","productDescription":"8 p.","startPage":"281","endPage":"288","numberOfPages":"8","costCenters":[{"id":531,"text":"Patuxent Wildlife Research Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":194044,"rank":1,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"volume":"21","issue":"2","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4b00e4b07f02db698420","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Sparling, Donald W.","contributorId":7220,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Sparling","given":"Donald","email":"","middleInitial":"W.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":333037,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1}]}}

But few studies compare grown and thermogenesis in separate populations of the same species. Results of such studies with emberizids varied among species. King and Hubbard (1981), for example, found that nestlings from subarctic, subalpine, and low-altitude montane populations of White-crowned Sparrows (Zonotrichia leucophrys gambelii) grew at similar rates. In contrast, Rogers (1985) reported that the growth rates of nestlings in different populations of Savannah Sparrows (Passerculus sandwichensis) varied in response to the different environmental constraints of the localities in which they were reared. Nice (1937) and Smith et al. (1982) documented patterns of nestling growth in mainland (Ohio) and insular (Mandarte Island, British Columbia, Canada) populations of Song Sparrows (Melospiza melodia), respectively, and found that they were similar to those reported for most other passerines by Ricklefs (1968, 1969) and O'Connor (1984).
\n
\n
In 1985-1986, we had the opportunity to examine the growth of nestlings from a third race of Song Sparrows, M. m. micronyx, which is endemic to San Miguel Island near Santa Barbara, California. We also studied the development of endothermy in these young birds, a process not hitherto described for nestling Song Sparrows. We report both in this paper.
","largerWorkType":{"id":2,"text":"Article"},"largerWorkTitle":"The Condor","largerWorkSubtype":{"id":10,"text":"Journal Article"},"language":"English","publisher":"Cooper Ornithological Club","publisherLocation":"Santa Clara, CA","doi":"10.2307/1368215","usgsCitation":"Sogge, M.K., Kern, M.D., Kern, R., and van Riper, C., 1991, Growth and development of thermoregulation in nestling San Miguel Island Song Sparrows: The Condor, v. 93, no. 3, p. 773-776, https://doi.org/10.2307/1368215.","productDescription":"4 p.","startPage":"773","endPage":"776","numberOfPages":"4","costCenters":[],"links":[{"id":503098,"rank":0,"type":{"id":41,"text":"Open Access External Repository Page"},"url":"https://digitalcommons.usf.edu/condor/vol93/iss3/40","text":"External Repository"},{"id":294315,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"},{"id":294311,"type":{"id":10,"text":"Digital Object Identifier"},"url":"https://dx.doi.org/10.2307/1368215"}],"country":"United States","state":"California","otherGeospatial":"San Miguel Island","geographicExtents":"{ \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\", \"features\": [ { \"type\": \"Feature\", \"properties\": {}, \"geometry\": { \"type\": \"Polygon\", \"coordinates\": [ [ [ -120.452691,34.013708 ], [ -120.452691,34.076544 ], [ -120.295491,34.076544 ], [ -120.295491,34.013708 ], [ -120.452691,34.013708 ] ] ] } } ] }","volume":"93","issue":"3","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"5422bb27e4b08312ac7cf05e","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Sogge, Mark K. 0000-0002-8337-5689 mark_sogge@usgs.gov","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8337-5689","contributorId":3710,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Sogge","given":"Mark","email":"mark_sogge@usgs.gov","middleInitial":"K.","affiliations":[{"id":5079,"text":"Pacific Regional Director's Office","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":true,"id":502057,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Kern, Michael D.","contributorId":45642,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Kern","given":"Michael","email":"","middleInitial":"D.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":502058,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2},{"text":"Kern, Robert","contributorId":77070,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Kern","given":"Robert","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":502059,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":3},{"text":"van Riper, Charles III 0000-0003-1084-5843 charles_van_riper@usgs.gov","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1084-5843","contributorId":169488,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"van Riper","given":"Charles","suffix":"III","email":"charles_van_riper@usgs.gov","affiliations":[{"id":568,"text":"Southwest Biological Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":false,"id":502060,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":4}]}}

This station is on the southwest flank of Mt. Trident, the most recently active volcano within Katmai National Park, Alaska. Delays from local shallow earthquakes are typically less than 0.3 sec, suggesting that most of the major delay results from anomalous material at depths of more than a few kilometers. This station is located near the center of a bowlshaped low in the Bouguer gravity field that is approximately 15 km in diameter and more than 25 mgals deep. These anomalies suggest, but do not prove, the presence of considerable amounts of magma in the shallow part of the crust that could have been the source for all magma erupted in the vicinity of Mt. Site-mean paleomagnetic directions for these units indicate significant vertical-axis rotations between sampling localities (≃15°–40°), and a comparison of these and previously published data with reference directions from the Colorado Plateau implies that the Jurassic rocks in southeastern Arizona have been rotated in a clockwise sense with respect to stable North America. These new data are consistent with paleomagnetic results showing clockwise rotation of Upper Cretaceous rocks in south central Arizona, and further indicate that studies of North American apparent polar wander based on rocks from southern Arizona could be subject to error. The clockwise rotations in southern Arizona are likely related to Late Cretaceous and early Tertiary strike-slip movement on northwest-trending high-angle faults in the region, and this movement may be linked to an increase in oblique Farallon-North American plate convergence at that time.
","language":"English","publisher":"American Geophysical Union","doi":"10.1029/91GL01805","usgsCitation":"Hagstrum, J.T., and Lipman, P.W., 1991, Paleomagnetism of three upper Jurassic ash-flow sheets in southeastern Arizona: Implications for regional deformation: Geophysical Research Letters, v. 18, no. 8, p. 1413-1416, https://doi.org/10.1029/91GL01805.","productDescription":"4 p.","startPage":"1413","endPage":"1416","costCenters":[],"links":[{"id":416498,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"country":"United States","state":"Arizona","otherGeospatial":"Canelo Hills, Huachuca Mountains, Mustang Mountains","geographicExtents":"{\n  \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\",\n  \"features\": [\n    {\n      \"type\": \"Feature\",\n      \"properties\": {},\n      \"geometry\": {\n        \"coordinates\": [\n          [\n            [\n              -110.89061601873365,\n              31.781749383555123\n            ],\n            [\n              -110.89061601873365,\n              31.333160754092148\n            ],\n            [\n              -110.18958693983679,\n              31.333160754092148\n            ],\n            [\n              -110.18958693983679,\n              31.781749383555123\n            ],\n            [\n              -110.89061601873365,\n              31.781749383555123\n            ]\n          ]\n        ],\n        \"type\": \"Polygon\"\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n}","volume":"18","issue":"8","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationStatus":"PW","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Hagstrum, Jonathan T. 0000-0002-0689-280X jhag@usgs.gov","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0689-280X","contributorId":3474,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Hagstrum","given":"Jonathan","email":"jhag@usgs.gov","middleInitial":"T.","affiliations":[{"id":312,"text":"Geology, Minerals, Energy, and Geophysics Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":true,"id":871044,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Lipman, Peter W. 0000-0001-9175-6118 plipman@usgs.gov","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9175-6118","contributorId":3486,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Lipman","given":"Peter","email":"plipman@usgs.gov","middleInitial":"W.","affiliations":[{"id":617,"text":"Volcano Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true},{"id":5079,"text":"Pacific Regional Director's Office","active":true,"usgs":true}],"preferred":true,"id":871045,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2}]}}

Because of thermal buffering in the oceans, evidence for a brief (1–2 months2–4) impact winter would be found only in terrestrial environments. Aquatic leaves in the K/T boundary section near Teapot Dome, Wyoming, preserve structural deformation that can be duplicated experimentally in extant aquatic leaves by freezing. Reproductive stages reached by the fossil aquatic plants at the time of death suggest that freezing took place in approximately early June. Both the existence of the structurally deformed plants and the high abundance of fern spores occur in a horizon containing sparse impact debris, but below the horizon containing abundant impact debris; I therefore suggest that the lower horizon represents debris and effects from a large, distant bolide impact, and the upper horizon represents a small, nearby bolide impact.
","language":"English","publisher":"Springer Nature","doi":"10.1038/352420a0","issn":"00280836","usgsCitation":"Wolfe, J.A., 1991, Palaeobotanical evidence for a June 'impact winter' at the Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary: Nature, v. 352, no. 6334, p. 420-423, https://doi.org/10.1038/352420a0.","productDescription":"4 p.","startPage":"420","endPage":"423","costCenters":[],"links":[{"id":222918,"rank":1,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"volume":"352","issue":"6334","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"505a73a0e4b0c8380cd7715d","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Wolfe, J. About 100,000 phase‐I fingerlings were tagged and released each year during midsummer 1988 and 1989. Both tagged and untagged (wild) young of the year were recovered by alongshore seining in the river through 80 d poststocking. Mortality rates of wild and hatchery‐reared young of the year were not significantly different‐about 3%/d. Wild young of the year were more abundant in 1989 than in 1988. In 1988, phase‐I fingerlings composed 56% of all young‐of‐the‐year striped bass in the river. In 1989 wild young‐of‐the‐year striped bass outnumbered hatchery‐reared fingerlings by about 11 to 1. Whether phase‐I or phase‐II stocking was more cost‐effective depended on the relative magnitudes of fingerling survival and on hatchery production costs. The range of phase‐II survival (5–50%) observed among different hatcheries and years of production was too broad to support generalizations about cost‐effectiveness, given the fivefold difference in the unit costs of phase‐I and phase‐II production.
","language":"English","publisher":"Oxford Academic","doi":"10.1577/1548-8675(1991)011<0435:SOHRSB>2.3.CO;2","usgsCitation":"Dorazio, R., Florence, B., and Wooley, C., 1991, Stocking of hatchery-reared striped bass in the Patuxent River, Maryland: Survival, relative abundance, and cost‐effectiveness: North American Journal of Fisheries Management, v. 11, no. 3, p. 435-442, https://doi.org/10.1577/1548-8675(1991)011<0435:SOHRSB>2.3.CO;2.","productDescription":"8 p.","startPage":"435","endPage":"442","costCenters":[{"id":365,"text":"Leetown Science Center","active":true,"usgs":true}],"links":[{"id":131651,"rank":1,"type":{"id":24,"text":"Thumbnail"},"url":"https://pubs.usgs.gov/thumbnails/outside_thumb.jpg"}],"country":"United States","state":"Maryland","otherGeospatial":"Patuxent River","geographicExtents":"{\n  \"type\": \"FeatureCollection\",\n  \"features\": [\n    {\n      \"type\": \"Feature\",\n      \"properties\": {},\n      \"geometry\": {\n        \"coordinates\": [\n          [\n            [\n              -76.73134487559523,\n              38.81361941686643\n            ],\n            [\n              -76.73134487559523,\n              38.29127774872697\n            ],\n            [\n              -76.44086010330378,\n              38.29127774872697\n            ],\n            [\n              -76.44086010330378,\n              38.81361941686643\n            ],\n            [\n              -76.73134487559523,\n              38.81361941686643\n            ]\n          ]\n        ],\n        \"type\": \"Polygon\"\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n}","volume":"11","issue":"3","noUsgsAuthors":false,"publicationStatus":"PW","scienceBaseUri":"4f4e4b32e4b07f02db6b421d","contributors":{"authors":[{"text":"Dorazio, R.M. 0000-0003-2663-0468","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2663-0468","contributorId":23475,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Dorazio","given":"R.M.","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":321429,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":1},{"text":"Florence, B.M.","contributorId":104863,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Florence","given":"B.M.","email":"","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":321431,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":2},{"text":"Wooley, C.M.","contributorId":61385,"corporation":false,"usgs":true,"family":"Wooley","given":"C.M.","email":"","affiliations":[],"preferred":false,"id":321430,"contributorType":{"id":1,"text":"Authors"},"rank":3}]}}
