Water-quality data which were not included in those reports have been placed in the Survey's national computer storage system and are available through data-retrieval programs. Some of the older streamflow data have not been entered into the computer system. Geological Survey Water-Supply Paper (WSP) 1372 contains a summary of previously published records of monthly and annual discharges through September 1945, as well as records of daily and monthly discharges for the water years 1946-50 which had not yet been published. Storm-tide frequency and records of annual maximum tides at Mobile, Alabama, since 1772, are presented. Offshore winds reached about 160 miles per hour. A wind-velocity of about 145 miles per hour was recorded near Dauphin Island, Alabama. Extensive wind damage occurred along the Mobile River in addition to minor flood damage to some houses and industrial complexes.
