This research was supported by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration under Contract No. R-09-020-011, Task No. 160-75-01-50-10.</p><p>The project was initiated in FY 1968 to evaluate the applicability of satellite relay telemetry in the collection of seismic data from a large number of dense seismograph clusters laid out along the major fault systems of western North America.
