The stations are listed in downstream order. Tributary streams are indicated by indention.</p>\n<p>Station names are given in their most recently published forms. Paren- theses around part of a station name indicate that the enclosed ward or words were used in an earlier published name of the station or in a name under which records were published by some agency other than the Geological Survey.</p>\n<p>The drainage areas, in square miles, are the latest figures published otherwise available at this time. Drainage areas that were obviously inconsistent with other drainage areas on the same stream have been omitted. It lies near the southwestern border of the Basin and Range Province. The paper describes the stratigraphy, igneous petrology, and the main structures of the area. The formations, as defined by the stratigraphy, and the structure are shown on a large scale topographic map and in structure sections.\r\n\r\nThe stratigraphy, except for Quaternary deposits that cover about one-fourth of the area, consists of Paleozoic sedimentary rocks preponderantly dolomite and limestone, representing each system from Cambrian to Carboniferous, as outlined below.
