M. It followed the report entitled Water facts in relation to a national water-resources policy,\" which, in part, has been published as Geological Survey Circular 114 under the title \"The water situation in the United States, with special reference to ground water.''</p>\n<p>The only changes made in preparing this report for publication as a circular were revision of the sections on Idaho, Indiana, Massachusetts, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, and Texas, to bring them up to date.</p>\n<p>This report discusses some of the problems in the field of water law and summarizes briefly the laws providing for the acquiring, of water rights in the different States. The need for consideration of the subject is brought out in Circular 114. An acid solution of 25 milligrams of ash is treated with stannous chloride and potassium thiocyanate. The amber-colored molybdenum thiocyanate complex ion is extracted with isopropyl ether, and the intensity of the color of the ether layer over a sample solution is compared with the ether layer over standard molybdenum solutions treated similarly. Field determinations can be made quickly and the method requires no special equipment. The deposits, in sec. 26, T. 27 S., R. 6 T., Beaver County, Utah, are 20 miles west of Marysvale, and about three-eighths of a mile east of a quartz monzonite stock.\r\n\r\nThe uranium minerals are sparsely disseminated in argillized and silicified earlier Tertiary Bullion Canyon latite and related volcanic rock beneart, but close to, the contact of the overlying later Tertiary Mount Belknap gray rhyolite. The prospects are in a landslide area where exposures are scarce.
