Cinder Butte and Callahan Flow
10. View south-southwest from Whitney Butte in western Lava Beds National Monument shows rocky, steep margin of late Holocene Callahan Flow (map unit mcf) that was erupted from Cinder Butte and nearby vents about 1,170 years ago. Patches of snow mark the top of Cinder Butte. The lava flow lies partially within the monument.
