Glacial Polish 12. Outcrop on north rim of caldera displays glacial polish and striations created by ice moving across andesite of north rim (map unit anr). The upper rubbly surface of this lava flow was removed by ice, which covered the upper part of Medicine Lake volcano, including the caldera, during the last ice age. Photograph by Julie M.
