This database contains three ARC/INFO coverages in ARC export format (.e00) and ARCVIEW shapefile format, one georegistered .TIFF image of the topographic basemap, FGDC compliant metadata in ASCII format (metadata.txt) describing the data structure and content, and this README file.

This database is not intended for the purpose of reproducing the map plate which is available as a printable PDF file over the internet or as a folded paper map (print-on-demand) through U.S. Geological Survey Information Services (1-888-ASK-USGS).  It contains the raw geologic data portrayed on the map, but does not include the supplemental text and figures.
