This mapping was performed in support of multidisciplinary studies involving the predictive modeling of geochemical environments at watershed and regional scales. These studies seek to determine the relative effects of mining and non-anthropogenic hydrothermal alteration on watershed surface water geochemistry and faunal populations. This image consists of nine binary (values of 0 and 1 only) bands, each of which shows areas in which a mineral group or green vegetation were identified. These data have been orthorectified to the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) projection using a projective transform with ground control points and a digital elevation model from the USGS National Elevation Dataset (1/3 arc second, 10m resolution). This image, in ERDAS Imagine (.img) format, has been designed for viewing and integration with other geospatial data in most image processing and GIS software packages.
