BEDROCK GEOLOGIC MAP OF THE SPRING VALLEY, WEST PLAINS, AND PARTS OF THE PIEDMONT AND POPLAR BLUFF 30' x 60' QUADRANGLES, MISSOURI, INCLUDING THE UPPER CURRENT RIVER AND ELEVEN POINT RIVER DRAINAGE BASINS D.J. Weary, R.W. Harrison, R.C. Orndorff, R.E. Weems, J.S. Schindler, J.E. Repetski, and H.A. Pierce U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Map 3280 DATA FILES (in compressed, .zip format): *All data are projected to Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM), Zone 15 North, North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83). SIM3280_metadata.zip: These are separate FDGC standard metadata files in .xml format SIM3280BaseMaps.zip: These are georeferenced raster (.tiff) base maps for displaying the geologic data. They include separate files for: hypsography, hydrography, and culture. Each file is a composite of scans of stable-base separates from the Spring Valley, West Plains, and parts of the Piedmont and Poplar Bluff 30 x 60 minute quadrangles. SIM3280Geodatabase.zip: This archive contains 2 files, (1) an ESRI ArcGIS ver. 10.2.1 personal geodatabase containing the geologic data, and (2) an ESRI ArcGIS ver. 10.2.1 map document (.mdx) file for displaying the data in a style similar to the published map. Data layers in the geodatabase include: Bedrock polygons Contact lines Fault lines Fold axis lines Interpreted magnetic anomaly lines Earthquake epicenter points Drill hole location points SIM3280ResidualMags.zip: This is a georegistered raster (.tiff) image of a first vertical derivative of the residual aeromagnetic field map of the Current and Eleven Point River basins (produced by T.G. Hildenbrand, U.S. Geological Survey, Menlo Park, Calif., 1996). Units are in nanoteslas (nT). Gray dots indicate calculated points of maximum horizontal gradient in the magnetic field to delineate magnetic boundaries. See Blakely and Simpson (1986) for methodology. SIM3280Shapefiles.zip These are shapefile versions of the data layers listed in the personal geodatabase above.
