Introduction ---------------------------------- This folder contains text files of the data used in U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Scientific Investigations Report 2008-5083, "Evaluation of Acoustic Doppler Velocity Meters to Quantify Flow from Comal Springs and San Marcos Springs, Texas," by Marcus O. Gary, Robin H. Gary, and William H. Asquith. These data will remain provisional because of the nature of the study. USGS Scientific Investigations Report 2008-5083 was prepared by the USGS in cooperation with the Edwards Aquifer Authority. Folder Information ---------------------------------- The overall layout of the folder is as follows: \readme_fgdc.txt this file \ASCII_text \data_daily.txt tab delimited text file Contains the daily value statistics (maximum, minimum, and mean) for each parameter collected at each site during the period of deployment. Null values are reported when data were insufficient to calculate daily value statistics. Values in the parameter_cd field are described in the lut_parameters.txt file. Field names are described as follows: site_no: USGS site number, links data to site information in sites.txt date: Date in MM/DD/YYYY (month/day/year) format dd_index: Unique identifier for parameter_cd and dd_desc parameter_cd: NWIS parameter code, described in lut_parameters.txt dd_desc: Data descriptor, describes additional information about the parameter stat_cd: Statistic code, described in lut_dailystat.txt value: Daily value precision: Number of significant digits \data_instantaneous.txt tab delimited text file Contains the unit values for each parameter collected at each site during the period of deployment. Values in the parameter_cd field are described in the lut_parameters.txt file. Field names are described as follows: site_no: USGS site number, links data to site information in sites.txt date_time: Date and time in MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM (month/day/year hour:minute) format TZCD: Time zone code (CDT: Central Daylight time; CST: Central Standard time) dd_index: Unique identifier for parameter_cd and dd_desc parameter_cd: NWIS parameter code, described in lut_parameters.txt dd_desc: Data descriptor, describes additional information about the parameter value: Unit value precision: Number of significant digits \lut_dailystat.txt tab delimited text file Contains statistics codes and descriptions for daily data.
