This image consists of four AVIRIS bands (bands 9, 19, 36, and 42 with band centers at 0.449060, 0.547320, 0.682790, and 0.740030 microns, respectively) in signed 16-bit reflectance format. These data have been georeferenced to the Universal Transverse Mercator projection using control points and a second-order polynomial transformation. This image, in ERDAS Imagine (.img) format, has been designed for color composite viewing and integration with other geospatial data in most image processing and GIS software packages. Purpose: The purpose of the image is to enable multispectral display of the visible and near-infrared AVIRIS data over the White Horse replacement alunite deposit. The image file can be used to display color composites (band assignments to red, green, and blue colors) that are useful for visual discrimination of surface features. 431/RGB color composite: visualization of vegetation communities and densities, and iron mineralogy of rocks and soils. Green vegetation will appear in hues of red, dry vegetation in hues of brown, and ferric iron minerals in hues of yellow.
