Interactive Maps Landing Page

The links below contain a coast-to-coast set of interactive maps for the contiguous United States that represent open interval lengths, depths of open intervals, and corresponding spatial data densities for typical wells. The user can search the base map, zoom, and pan to locate the desired viewing extent. Two maps can be selected for interactive maps 1 through 5, and a slider tool allows the user to move back and forth between map representations. Interactive map 6 includes hydrogeologic settings. The maps are presented as static map figures in this report (https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20215069). Data sources and processed data are available for download in Kauffman and others (2021).

Interactive Map 1. Domestic-supply wells in the contiguous United States; from figures 2, 3, 13, 14, and 15 of this report.

Interactive Map 2. Public-supply wells in the contiguous United States; from figures 2, 3, 13, 14, and 15 of this report.

Interactive Map 3. Domestic- and public-supply well data densities, differences, and depths to the top of open intervals in the contiguous United States; from figures 3, 13, and 16 of this report.

Interactive Map 4. Domestic- and public-supply well data densities, differences, and depths to the bottom of open intervals in the contiguous United States; from figures 2, 14, and 16 of this report.

Interactive Map 5. Domestic- and public-supply well data densities, differences, and lengths of the open intervals in the contiguous United States; from figures 2, 15, and 16 of this report.

Interactive Map 6. Hydrogeologic settings in the contiguous United States, showing principal aquifer and secondary hydrogeologic region names.
