Version History for U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2024–5004 2020 Volcanic Activity in Alaska—Summary of Events and Response of the Alaska Volcano Observatory By Tim Orr, Cheryl Cameron, Hannah Dietterich, Matthew Loewen, Taryn Lopez, John Lyons, Jenny Nakai, John Power, Cheryl Searcy, Gabrielle Tepp, and Chris Waythomas ----------------------------------------------------- First posted online April 9, 2024 ----------------------------------------------------- Revised and reposted September 10, 2024 as version 1.1 On pages 9 and 10, the explanation of figures 5A and 6A errantly referred to black triangles as Volcano Activity Notice announcements. The black triangles should refer to ash-producing events. This correction has been made in this current version. On pages 9 and 10, the explanation of figures 5E and 6C referred to undersaturated and saturated VIIRS image values without further clarification. The explanations of these figures has been revised to show undersaturated and saturated values of VIIRS sensor range, and a brief clarification has been given in the caption of figures 5 and 6. On page 15 of the text, the date given when the Aviation Color Code and Volcano Alert Level were lowered to GREEN and NORMAL, respectively, for Shishaldin Volcano is incorrect. Originally, this date was shown as April 16, but this was the date previously given for the lowering of the volcano’s status to YELLOW and ADVISORY on page 14. The correct date and time when the Aviation Color Code and Volcano Alert Level were lowered to GREEN and NORMAL—June 24 at 20:00 UTC (12:00 AKDT)—has been revised on page 15 in this current version.
