03118000 MIDDLE BRANCH NIMISHILLEN CREEK AT CANTON, OHIO LOCATION.--Lat 40050'29", long 81021'14" in NE 1/4 sec. 27, T.11 N., R.8 W., Stark County, Hydrologic Unit 05040001, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on Martindale Road, 2.4 mi upstream from mouth, and 0.5 mi northeast of Canton. DRAINAGE AREA.--43.1 mi2. PERIOD OF RECORD.--September 1941 to current year. REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 1033: 1942(M), 1943(P), 1944(M). WSP 1305: 1946(M). WSP 1143: 1948. WSP 1907: Drainage area. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,046.60 ft above sea level. REMARKS.--Records fair except for periods of estimated record, which are poor. Part of municipal water supply for city of Canton is pumped from its northeast well field; a portion of pumpage is believed to be derived from creek as recharge to aquifer supplying well field about 1 mi downstream from gage. Mean pumpage for water year 1997, 12.0 ft3/s. At times low flow regulated by small pools above station. Water-quality data collected at this site.
