LOCATION.--Lat 39°24'21", long 88°53'47", in NW1/4NW1/4 sec.17, T.11 N., R.3 E., Shelby County, Hydrologic Unit 07140201, on right bank at upstream side of bridge on State Highway 16, 0.1 mi downstream from Mud Creek, 4.5 mi west of Shelbyville, and at mile 9.1.

DRAINAGE AREA.--93.1 mi2.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1979 to current year. Gage-height record for June 22, 1973 to Sept. 30, 1979, available in files of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 550.00 ft above sea level (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers).

REMARKS.--Records good except those for discharges less than 1.0 ft3/s and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers satellite telemeter at station.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood of June 28, 1957, reached a stage of 16.8 ft, present site and datum, with a discharge estimated at 26,400 ft3/s.
