LOCATION.-- Lat 42°01'34", long 88°15'20" (NAD of 1927), in SE1/4NW1/4 sec.19, T.41 N., R.9 E., Cook County, Hydrologic Unit 07120006, on right bank 35 ft upstream from bridge on U.S. Highway B.R. 20 (Villa Street) in Elgin, and at mile 2.3.

 

DRAINAGE AREA.-- 35.2 mi2.

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 1,180 ft3/s, Feb. 21, 1997, gage height, 6.78 ft; no flow, July 10, 1957, Sept. 14, 1958, July 18, 1989, Oct. 6, 1997.

 

REMARKS FOR CURRENT YEAR.--Habitat measurements, including physical and geomorphic, were collected as part of the National Water-Quality Assessment program (NAWQA) in the upper Illinois River Basin. The measurements were collected according to Fitzpatrick and others (1998). Reach A begins 68 feet upstream of Villa Creek Bridge and continues upstream for 492 feet.
