LOCATION.-- Lat 41°05'25", long 90°46'25" (NAD of 1927), near center of sec. 30, T. 13 N., R. 3 W., Mercer County, Hydrologic Unit 07080104, near center of span on downstream side of highway bridge, 1.1 mi upstream from Snake Creek, 1.6 mi southeast of Seaton, and 6 mi upstream from mouth.

 

DRAINAGE AREA.-- 66.4 mi2.

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE

 

DISCHARGE: October 1940 to September 1951.

 

GAGE.-- Wire-weight gage and crest-stage indicator; gage read once daily. Datum of gage is 581.43 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by Corps of Engineers).

 

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 1,740 ft3/s Apr. 24, 1950, gage height, 14.27 ft; no flow for several days in October 1940, August and September 1941.

 

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Flood of May 1935 reached a stage of 15.7 ft, from floodmarks.
