LOCATION.-- Lat 38°03'41", long 89°21'45" (NAD of 1927), in SE1/4NW1/4 sec.30, T. 5 S., R. 2 E. Perry County, Hydrologic Unit 07140106, third principal meridian; at Illinois Central Railroad bridge about 1.5 mi east of Pinckneyville, about 10 mi above the mouth of Galum Creek.

 

DRAINAGE AREA.-- 227 mi2.

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE

 

DISCHARGE: July 1, 1908, to September 30, 1912; November 1 to December 31, 1912; and June 24 to November 2, 1914.

 

GAGE.-- Standard chain gage attached to bridge.

 

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 2,170 ft3/s Feb. 28, 1910, gage height, 21.1 ft; no flow July 3, 4, and July 7 to Aug. 21, 1914.

 

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: The flood of 1902 reached a height of about 27.5 ft on the present gage.
