RED RIVER OF THE NORTH BASIN

05056340 LITTLE COULEE NEAR LEEDS, ND

LOCATION.--Lat 48×14'36", long 99×22'21", in NE14NE14SE14 sec.15, T.155 N., R.68 W., Benson County, Hydrologic Unit 09020201, at bridge 3.5 miles southeast of Leeds.

DRAINAGE AREA.--320 mi2, of which about 150 mi2 is probably noncontributing.

WATER-DISCHARGE RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD.-- March 1998 to current year.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. This station was moved upstream from 05056390 Little Coulee near Brinsmade due to rising water from Devils Lake. Records may not be equivalent to prior locations due to change in drainage area. Datum of gage is 1,480 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.

REMARKS.--Records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.

EXTREMES FOR CURRENT YEAR.--Maximum discharge, 130 ft3/s, Apr. 7, gage height, 65.83 ft; no flow for many days.
