LOCATION.-- Lat 40°27'32", long 90°08'00" (NAD of 1927), in center of sec.35, T.6 N., R.3 E., Fulton County, Hydrologic Unit 07130005, on left bank at upstream side of culvert on county road, 2.0 mi southwest of Bryant, 2.1 mi downstream from Evelyn Branch, 4.5 mi northeast of Lewiston, and at mile 12.5.

 

DRAINAGE AREA.-- 41.2 mi2.

GAGE.-- Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 504.54 ft above NGVD of 1929 (Metropolitian Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago bench mark) (504.26 ft NAVD 1988).

 

REMARKS.-- Suspended-sediment samples were colected every other day by a local observer with additional samples collected during high runoff periods.

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 1,220 ft3/s June 23, 1974, gage height, 12.90 ft; maximum gage height, 13.22 ft Apr. 2, 1983; minimum discharge, 2.6 ft3/s Oct. 1, 1992.

SUSPENDED-SEDIMENT CONCENTRATIONS: Maximum daily mean, 5,760 mg/L May 8, 1973; minimum daily mean, 3 mg/L Feb. 4, 1972, Mar. 1-9, 1978.

SUSPENDED-SEDIMENT LOADS: Maximum daily, 12,500 tons May 8, 1973; minimum daily, 0.05 ton Feb. 18, 1980.
