PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1978 to current year. Records for October 1967 to September 1974 (discharge measurements only prior to March 1968), published as St. Charles River near Vineland (station 07108800) at site 2.6 mi upstream, are not equivalent because of tributary inflow. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 4,581.58 ft above NGVD of 1929, (Colorado Division of Highways benchmark). Prior to May 10, 2001, on right bank at same datum.

REMARKS.--Records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Natural flow of stream affected by storage reservoir, diversions for irrigation and industrial use, ground-water withdrawals, and return flows from irrigated areas. Several measurements of specific conductance and water temperature were obtained and are published in the "Supplemental Water-Quality Data For Gaging Stations" section of this report.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge since at least 1901, 56,000 ft3/s, June 3, 1921, gage height unknown, at site 5.0 mi upstream.
