Figure 14.  Graph of the distribution of sediment by volume between shelf, bay, and beach environments at 1,000-year intervals for the last 10,000 years.  Note that the shelf has been the largest sink of sediment during this time interval and that the beaches did not start accumulating sediment until 5,000 yr BP and are by far the smallest of the three provinces.
