GRANITE

Sample 95MW0209 is a medium-grained granite composed of K-feldspar, plagioclase, quartz, biotite, and oxides (this is based solely on hand sample). K-feldspar porphyries reach 8 mm in length and show string perthite. Quartz occurs mainly as a matrix mineral. A weak, biotite-defined foliation is present in this granite, which has minor fractures running through it.
