LOCATION.-- Lat 42°12'40", long 88°10'25" (NAD of 1983), in NE1/4NW1/4 sec.15, T.43 N., R.9 E., Lake County, Hydrologic Unit 07120006, on left bank at upstream side of bridge on Kelsey Road, 2.5 mi northeast of Fox River Grove, and at mile 1.1.

 

DRAINAGE AREA.-- 37.0 mi2.

GAGE.-- Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 738.00 ft above NGVD of 1929 (737.79 ft NAVD 1988). Prior to Oct. 1, 1989, crest-stage gage at datum 3.44 ft higher.

 

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 690 ft3/s, May 21, 1996, gage height, 5.88 ft; minimum discharge, 1.1 ft3/s, Sept. 19-21, Oct. 30,31, 1994.

 

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--

SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Flood of April 1960 reached a stage of 6.36 ft, present datum, discharge, 492 ft3/s.

 

REMARKS FOR CURRENT YEAR.--Habitat segment data were collected as part of the National Water-Quality Assessment program (NAWQA) in the upper Illinois River Basin. The measurements were collected according to Fitzpatrick and others (1998).
