Dive and Sampling Locations These digital data were compiled with ArcInfo version 7.2.2 and ArcGIS 9.0 and are available in ESRI shapefile format. The files contain locations of piston cores, dredges, Kaiko and Shinkai submersible dive tracks, and all rock samples taken during the cruises. ArcInfo-compatible GIS software is required to use these files. The data were located with shipboard GPS navigation and imported as a comma-delimited text file into ArcInfo. Below are maps in PDF format displaying different sampling locations, metadata describing the sampling data, and zip files containing the data in shapefile format. Please note that although there are graphics depicting the dive locations by year, the shapefile contains all the dives with attributes that can be queried.
