GIS services for the state of Montana, provided by Montana Natural Resource Information System (NRIS), a Geographic Information System (GIS) clearinghouse for GIS databases and provides services to State, Federal, Private, Non-Profit, and Public groups or individuals needing access to GIS technology.

The Royalty Management Program of the Mineral Management Service is responsible for management of all revenues associated with both federal offshore and onshore mineral leases. The effort is one of the federal government's greatest sources of non-tax revenues.
