55. How were the ages of the craterlets determined? This photograph shows another prehistoric craterlet, characterized by an abrupt contact between the graded and laminated zones. Samples for radiocarbon dating, such as twigs, tree bark, and other plant pieces, were collected at this abrupt contact in order to determine when the craterlets formed. White strings are spaced 0.3 m apart.
