SAMPLE PLAN FOR SOUTH PLATTE GRAVEL
Notes:
A two-factor sampling plan was used for South Platte gravel:
1-The plan measures effects of two factors (stratigraphy and location) on gravel quality. Labels are sample numbers.
2-Three gravel layers were sampled at three sites (pits).
3-Sampling was replicated at three sections 500 ft apart. Replicate sections measure both local variation and sampling error. Sample error was not determined separately.
4-Two-factor plans enable simultaneous analysis of variation among gravel layers and sites. If there is no interaction between factors, summaries can be prepared for layers or sites.
