PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THESE PAGES

These pages contain a background and history of investigation, a slide show, and a catalog of slides from a research project on fluorspar, beryllium, and uranium deposits at Spor Mountain, Utah. The project was conducted by the U. S. Geological Survey during the years 1969-1980. The slides were made for presentations of project results at scientific meetings, and the narrative accompanying the slides is adapted from presentation notes. Additional information, including slides and descriptions of mines, rock formations, and other geological features, appears in pages linked to the slide show. References to published work are given at the end of the slide show.

The slides are placed on the WorldWideWeb to make them available to the public. They are stored in JPEG format for online viewing. For photographic-quality copies, duplicates may be ordered from the U.S. Geological Survey Photographic Library, MS 914, Box 25046, Federal Center, Lakewood, CO 80225, telephone (303) 236-1010. Individual slides can be identified as "LINDSEYDA SLIDE #."
