DATA

Digital databases are available for GIS users in ARC/INFO export format format. Those who download digital data should also download the descriptive pamphlet.

The data filenames ending in .tar.gz  have been archived using tar, then compressed with gzip. File sizes (in parentheses) are for the gzip-compressed download file, followed by the size of the file when uncompressed.

PLOTFILES

Plotfiles are available for those who wish to produce paper copies of maps prepared from the digital data. These maps have been edited to conform as much as possible to standard U.S. Geological Survey format for geologic maps. The plotfiles are in PostScript and PDF formats. Note that these plotfiles are formatted to plot on 42 by 34 inch (Sheet 1, rotated to fit 36 inch wide paper) and 35 by 32 inches (Sheet 2)  sheets, so a large format color plotter is required to produce a paper map. Those who download plotfiles should also download the descriptive pamphlet.

To download plotfiles in PostScript format, select the following:

To download plotfiles in PDF format, choose from the following: To maintain the correct scale of the maps, please make sure the Acrobat Reader File>Print>Fit to Page option is deselected (not checked).  I then set the pagesize to "ARCH E", landscape orientation to print to the HP DesignJet 2500CP.
