This shapefile contains arcs, polygons and polygon labels that describe the political boundaries of the countries comprising the Former Soviet Union. (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikstan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.) This spatial dataset is available as an ArcView shapefile.

Purpose:

This spatial dataset is intended to delineate the political boundaries of the countries comprising the Former Soviet Union as a locational reference in U.S.G.S. Open File Report 01-104, "Coal Quality and Resources of the Former Soviet Union - An ArcView Project".
