Physical Properties of Long Island Sound Sediment Cores

Core A3C2 was taken on June 18, 1996 in 18 meters of water. The core measured 45.8 cm in length and was x-rayed on June 26, 1996. This core was frozen during the x-radiograph and some ice crystals are visible in the x-ray image. Features noted are seen in the x-ray profile above and include wispy, angled sand deposits,mottled sediment, rocks, and some biological features such as shells.
