Physical Properties of Long Island Sound Sediment Cores

Core B1C1 was taken on June 19, 1996 in 7 meters of water. The core measured 45.5 cm in length and was x-rayed on July 2, 1996. This core was frozen during the x-radiograph and ice crystals are visible in the x-ray image. Features noted are seen in the x-ray above and include mottled sediment, defined sand and mud deposits, and some biological features such as small shells.
