Core J1C1 was taken on June 21, 1996 in 7 meters of water. The core measured 50.5 cm in length and was x-rayed on July 2, 1996. This core was frozen during the x-radiograph and ice crystals are visible in the x-ray image. Features noted are seen in the x-ray above and include mottled sediment and some biological features such as small shells and worm tubes.
