View the Metadata: The links at left access the metadata files for the surface effects sites database contained in the GIS Surface Effects Map Archive. Three file formats are provided: (1) ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute), (2) FGDC (Federal Geographic Data Commission), and (3) FAQs (Frequently Anticipated Questions). All contain the same information. When viewing the ESRI-formatted metadata, click the blue tabs and green links to expand these sections of the metadata file.

Testing Areas: Metadata files are provided for each of the three testing areas listed below. These files contain the metadata information for both the geodatabases and shapefiles contained in the archive.

  1. Yucca Flat testing area
  2. Pahute Mesa testing area
  3. Other Areas including Frenchman Flat, Rainier/Aqueduct Mesa, Climax Stock, Shoshone Mountain, Buckboard Mesa, Dome Mountain testing areas.
