An orthogneiss, sample 80MW0001 contains
plagioclase (45%), K-feldspar (40%), quartz (8%), chlorite (3%),
muscovite (2%), oxides (1%), and trace biotite. Biotite has been almost
completely replaced by chlorite. Plagioclase shows a variable grain size
and albite twinning in some, but not all, porphyroclasts. Calcite veins
crosscut the foliation and are not included in modal estimates. |
