A marly dolostone, sample 80MW0013 contains
dolomite, plagioclase, magnesite, and calcite veins. Texturally, this
rock is characterized by a matrix of microcrystalline material with
zones showing an almost glass-like swirl microstructure. Calcite veins
are up to 0.3 cm thick, and in some places are offset by minor
faults/deformation bands. This rock is interpreted as a lithified fault
gouge material. |
