A great deal of the success for the seismic profiling system is due to Kevin O’Toole, Jon Ericson, Hal Williams, Walt Olsen, Jeff Stampfer, Ransom Rideout, and Bill LaFleur of the USGS Marine Facility in Redwood City, California, who designed, built, and tirelessly operated and maintained the equipment at sea. The authors also wish to thank a number of other technicians who participated in the program over the three years, including Dave Hogg, William Robinson, Dave Nichols, John Gann, and James Vaughan.

We also wish to thank the U.S. Coast Guard for its support of the cruise, which was critical to its realization. In particular, the support and encouragement provided by Captain Alan F. Walker and the Ice Operations Division of the Coast Guard is greatly appreciated, as is the assistance provided by the officers and enlisted personnel of the USCGC Polar Star and its aviation detachment.

Peter Triezenberg and Jon Childs assisted preparing the web publication.
