Abstract:
The NR_EXTENT spatial database contains a single polygon that identifies the areal or spatial extent of the NR_GEO geologic map spatial database.
Purpose:
NR_EXTENT provides a layer for use in a GIS to define the areal extent of the geologic map compilation represented by the NR_GEO spatial database. It is especially useful for when the user is viewing subsets of the data that may not cover the entire map area.
Supplemental_Information:
The NR_EXTENT spatial database covers an area that includes most of Idaho north of the Snake River Plain, the west half of Montana, and a narrow sliver of northeast Washington.
