Monthly Mississippi-Atchafalaya River Basin Nutrient Flux to the Gulf of Mexico for the Period of Record (through 2005)

Estimates of nutrient fluxes from the Mississippi and Atchafalaya Rivers to the Gulf of Mexico are used by scientists to evaluate nutrient losses from the Mississippi and Atchafalaya River Basin and to estimate the size of the hypoxic zone that develops each summer in the northern Gulf of Mexico.
