Digital Data for Volcano Hazards of the Mount Hood Region, Oregon

By S.P. Schilling, S. Doelger, W.E. Scott, T.C. Pierson, J.E. Costa, C.A. Gardner, J.W. Vallance, and J.J. Major

These digital GIS layers were compiled with ArcInfo software. The files are volcano hazard map data available as ArcInfo coverages and shapefiles. ArcInfo-compatible GIS software is required to use the files. The files are stored in a single zipped folder (mthood_coverages.zip or mthood_shapefiles.zip) in this release for ease of transfer. The scale of the source map limits the spatial resolution (scale) of the files to 1:100,000 or smaller. Available ArcInfo coverages and shapefiles are described below:

ArcInfo coverage or shapefile
mthhaz Proximal and Distal Volcano Hazard Zones (lines, polygons)
mtharr Estimated travel time for lahars(points)
