Data
These digital GIS layers were compiled with ArcInfo software. The files are volcano hazard map data available as ArcInfo coverages and shapefiles. ArcInfo-compatible GIS software is required to use the files. The files are stored in a single zipped folder (crater_lake_coverages.zip or crater_lake_shapefiles.zip) in this release for ease of transfer. The scale of the source map limits the spatial resolution (scale) of the files to 1:100,000 or smaller. Available ArcInfo coverages and shapefiles are described below:

ArcInfo coverage or shapefile Description
chazpoly Proximal and Distal Volcano Hazard Zones (lines, polygons)
chazline Maximum extent of pumiceous deposits(lines)
chaz Silicic and mafic vent locations(lines)
c_faults Faults active in past few million years (lines)
cballs Location of ball symbol showing downthrown side of fault(points)

Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) metadata are available for the digital files in text format.
