AST–80–6B Seismic Profiles

The seismic-reflection profiles obtained during the R/V Asterias cruise in southern Rhode Island Sound during June 1980 can be accessed in the data listing below.

Data Listing

Seismic-reflection profiles can be viewed and downloaded through the table below. Clicking on the name of a preview image below will open the low-resolution GIF image of the seismic line in a new browser window. The preview images have been reduced to 96 dpi with a maximum width of 1,000 pixels. Clicking on the black and white TIFF file name will allow the user to download the TIFF image of the seismic line. The TIFF image can then be opened in appropriate graphics software (such as Adobe Illustrator CS2, Adobe Photoshop CS2, or Corel Draw). A compressed (Zip), downloadable archive file containing the SEG-Y data for each line is also provided. Compressed downloadable files were created by using the Windows program WINZIP v9.0. Users who do not have software capable of uncompressing the archived Zip files can obtain a free version of the software from Pkware, Inc. Users of SEG-Y data are encouraged to view the TIFF images or access the cruise logbook through the link at the end of the Cruise Report/Logbook page to see field notes about data acquisition and weather conditions. Grayscale PNG images of the seismic data listed below can be accessed from Disk B of the DVD-ROMs, or they can be accessed on the Web by clicking the heading "Grayscale PNG" in the Data Listing below. By clicking the "Black and White TIFF" or "SEG-Y Data" headings in the table below, the user can download multiple files from a folder containing all the cruise data of each file type.
