This is a Vector data set. It contains the following vector data types (SDTS terminology):
Horizontal positions are specified in geographic coordinates, that is, latitude and longitude. Latitudes are given to the nearest 0.00001. Longitudes are given to the nearest 0.00001. Latitude and longitude values are specified in Degrees, minutes, and decimal seconds.
The horizontal datum used is D_WGS_1984.
The ellipsoid used is WGS_1984.
The semi-major axis of the ellipsoid used is 6378137.000000.
The flattening of the ellipsoid used is 1/298.257224.

The navigation for these data were acquired with an Communications Systems International (CSI), Inc. LGBX Pro Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) receiver and an antenna mounted on the cabin of the R/V Rafael. All DGPS data are referenced to WGS 84. All DGPS data are assumed to be accurate to within + or - 1 to 2 meters. A Garmin 5212 was used for boat navigation.
Depth values were collected with a Garmin 5312 single frequency DGPS, which has an assumed vertical accuracy of 0.25 meters.
These files represent all the HYPACK navigation recorded during USGS Field Activity 2010-100-FA. The GPS data recorded to HYPACK include the following receivers: a Communications Systems International (CSI), Inc. LGBX Pro (DGPS), and a Garmin 5312 (echosounder for boat navigation).
These are the original files recorded by the HYPACK navigation software. No additional checks or corrections have been made to these files.
Are there legal restrictions on access or use of the data?
