Abstract

Construction details and operation of a respirometer with capabilities for controlling the oxygen level at preselected levels is described. The interaction of an oxygen sensor and electronic switch energizes an electrolysis cell which replenishes oxygen used by a test organism. Respiration rate of any aquatic or semiaquatic organism may be determined by this apparatus.
