Abstract
A method has been devised to estimate the minimum concentration of TFM that will kill sea lampreys and the maximum that will not kill fish. It is based on the relation of these concentrations to the alkalinity and the conductivity of various waters. Pretreatment bioassays will continue to be required for precise determination of treatment concentrations, but the estimates made possible by the method will permit a great reduction in the number of bioassays on a single stream.
